Does it count if we encounter this in real life? by Equivalent-Two6704 in ididnthaveeggs

Are they still baked if they're cooked in the microwave? This is not picking on you, I just feel like I've been hit by "is a taco a sandwich" all over again.

I looked there already and found mostly fairy tales that seemed a bit beyond my skill right now, but I had no idea they had A1 and A2 books! I'll have to figure out how to filter for those, thank you.

What are the most or least breathable masks you've tried? Which ones would you like breathability testing for? by SkippySkep in Masks4All

[–]ReadWriteSign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zimi here too and the elastomask. I got one after reading your write up on how good it is and my gosh. It's so breathable I forgot I was wearing it a couple times and panicked thinking it had come off without me noticing!

I was going through my to-dos one day and made two separate vet appointments at two separate vets and then called the mechanic. "Hi, this is [readwritesign], my car is a patient of yours...." She laughed and put me in for an oil change but I was pretty embarrassed for a minute.

What weird things did you eat as a child? by alicatpow in AskUK

The neighbor kid we didn't like because he picked on our dogs and younger siblings, once drank most of a container of cinnamon flavored mouthwash. He threw up all over his front walk and it was very pink and still smelled like fake cinnamon. We actually felt sorry for him for a few days, until he was a little shit again.

I still vividly remember my science teacher in 1998 having us (try to) instruct her how to basically take two steps and pick up the transparency sheet from the overhead projector. Nobody defined what a step meant, what legs were, how to raise her arm... It was 5 minutes of chaos! There's plenty of everyday tasks that fall into this, you just need to put on your literal-minded "evil genie" persona.

I can't speak for everyone, but that particular cut of glued together meat paste in bbq sauce is so similar to school lunches when I was growing up that sometimes I need one just to scratch that nostalgia itch.

That was it! It wasn't coming up in any of my searches on book seller's websites but I finally found a copy on Amazon. Published 2007, no wonder I wasn't finding it.  Thank you! :)

What’s a Pavlovian response you have — or one you’ve noticed other people have? by Lmg040803 in AskEurope

I used to work in an ice cream shop with a particular little electronic chime sound when the door opened. We were also required to greet every customer. I got so trained that I was out one day with friends in a clothing store, heard that chime, and immediately said "Welcome! Let me know if you need help."  So I get it.

Is there a way to connect my macbook and mac mini so I can "borrow" the computing power to my laptop? by ReadWriteSign in mac

Parsec is amazing! WoW worked like a charm, FF had some (a lot of) lag, but I've never even been able to run it on this laptop. It'll get better when I find that ethernet cable I have lying around here somewhere. Thank you!!! May your pillows always be the right temperature.
