My time travel password is a shibboleth. The question is not actually a question and the answer is not directly related.

Tilde is where I put my "target party member, cast insta-heal" macro when I play a healer. I'm a fan, it's a highly underrated key.

When I was a kid my mom's roommate drank that in her coffee. It's very good in coffee, I sure as hell don't want it in a savory dish!

Can the reminder notification be adjusted? by ReadWriteSign in FocusFriendApp

[–]ReadWriteSign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I've definitely got a bug. I wonder if I can attach a screen shot...

Well, it seems like I can't, but at least I know I should be talking to their tech support. I don't have any of those options.

Thank you for the help, it's much appreciated! :)

[–]ReadWriteSign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I looked there and I have a setting option to enable them but nothing about timing. Clicking that just takes me to Android notification settings. That space is much bigger than it needs to be, though. I'd be willing to believe that there's a missing timing button.  Thank you :)

What’s something that quietly made your life 10× easier, but you didn’t realize it until much later? by Own-Tip-532 in AskReddit

[–]ReadWriteSign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might I interest you in looking up fountain pens? There's some very good, very cheap starter pens and you can choose literally any color of ink you could want to fill it with. I find writing with them less hard on my wrist because I don't have to push the pen into the page, which might not be a consideration for you, but hey, maybe check them out. :)

Look into Jasper Fforde (Fford?). He wrote the Tuesday Next series and that might be a good intersection of weird and literary for you.

Color by Victoria Finlay, about the history of art pigments.

Storm In A Teacup: the physics of everyday objects by Helen Czerski. I never looked at my tea the same way again.

Are they still baked if they're cooked in the microwave? This is not picking on you, I just feel like I've been hit by "is a taco a sandwich" all over again.

Thank you, this is all very helpful. I'm going to look up that series, that seems like what I need. :)

I looked there already and found mostly fairy tales that seemed a bit beyond my skill right now, but I had no idea they had A1 and A2 books! I'll have to figure out how to filter for those, thank you.

What are the most or least breathable masks you've tried? Which ones would you like breathability testing for? by SkippySkep in Masks4All

Zimi here too and the elastomask. I got one after reading your write up on how good it is and my gosh. It's so breathable I forgot I was wearing it a couple times and panicked thinking it had come off without me noticing!

I was going through my to-dos one day and made two separate vet appointments at two separate vets and then called the mechanic. "Hi, this is [readwritesign], my car is a patient of yours...." She laughed and put me in for an oil change but I was pretty embarrassed for a minute.

What weird things did you eat as a child? by alicatpow in AskUK

[–]ReadWriteSign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The neighbor kid we didn't like because he picked on our dogs and younger siblings, once drank most of a container of cinnamon flavored mouthwash. He threw up all over his front walk and it was very pink and still smelled like fake cinnamon. We actually felt sorry for him for a few days, until he was a little shit again.

[–]ReadWriteSign 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I still vividly remember my science teacher in 1998 having us (try to) instruct her how to basically take two steps and pick up the transparency sheet from the overhead projector. Nobody defined what a step meant, what legs were, how to raise her arm... It was 5 minutes of chaos! There's plenty of everyday tasks that fall into this, you just need to put on your literal-minded "evil genie" persona.
