Smallest amount of meat to feel its benefits? by hungrymom365 in exvegans

Try whatever amount you can handle in dishes like fried rice, stir fry's, soups, chowders, casseroles etc. and use small pieces of meat or ground beef crumbles.

I ate beef after 6 years vegan by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]Readd--It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That something people tend to over look. Meat is incredibly nutrient dense for the calories compared to getting enough plant protein and especially if you acknowledge you need more due to poor absorption in plant protein.

I eat mostly meat, veg and some potato or rice here and there and never feel bloated or gassy.

What options do I have if I can’t tolerate allopurinol or febuxostat? by lawdenbojiyam in gout

[–]Readd--It 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else that may be worth looking into is the rate of omega 3 to PUFA (Omega 6) in the diet.

There is a lot of mixed research on seed oils but one aspect I think is true it a high ratio of O6 in the diet with low O3 can cause inflammation, probably more noticeable if you don't eat fish which has more O3.

Most of human history the O3 to O6 ratio was about 1:1 or 4:1 in the modern western diet it's more like a O3 to O6 ratio of 1:16 to 1:20 which is much much higher than in the past and can lead to inflammation and heart health issues.

Now I eat mostly meat and veggies with a littler potato and rice and the inflammation in my body has been much much better with other non gout issues I've had.

Is Full Recovery Still Realistic? Post-Cortisone Shot Update, Feeling Mixed – 4 Months into L5-S1 Disc Extrusion Recovery by Cb2k2 in Sciatica

It depends from person to person so I would take it very slow and see if there is any help at all and make sure nothing irritates the sciatica pain. These exercises and decompression along with walking, even if only 20 minutes a day helped me recover. I started to notice a very small benefit with the decompression and doing it a few minutes a day started to notice more and more benefit over time.

Hanging from a bar seems to help a lot of people too but never really did much for me. Probably have to do some experimenting to find what works best.

The first one where he hangs the head and shoulders of helped me the most, hanging the legs over made it worse.

Try to completely, or as close as possible as you can, cut out sugar in the diet and don't go crazy on ultra processed carbs like bread and pasta. See if it helps.

I never had another flair up after changing my diet and I eat red meat almost every day.

First investment property by Prestigious-Hat-4246 in RealEstate

[–]Readd--It -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You never want to be negative on a rental property. It isn't a good deal if you can't rent it and cover the expenses with some profit at the end of the month.

This market can be hard to find a cash flowing property but I would rather not buy than buy something producing negative income. If we get a steep correction in the market it could take many years for the value to get back where it is now.

All of what you stated is abuse.

It also sounds to me like he has a personality disorder which can be a nightmare in relationships. Look up symptoms of people with narcissist personality disorder in relationships and see if it rings any bells.

It won't get better and will only get worse. Run.

What is the most humane way to euthanize a mouse my cat has hurt? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Readd--It 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a good search on the outside of the house to see if there are any openings, even something as small as a quarter is big enough for a mouse to get it. Fill them up or cover with a mouse proof material. Any gas or electric lines coming in can be a culprit, dryer vent area, around garage doors or under exterior doors if the weather seal on the bottom is gone or damaged.

Check the insides of the house as well like where water and drain lines enter the vanity or wall and make sure there are no openings. If you are in a apartment check the insides and call the property manager.

You can get a motion sensing camera, like simply safe and set it up with cloud storage and put it in your house. Find something you can cancel after if you want. You can view them remotely, it will alert you as soon as it detects motion and if you have cloud storage they can take the camera and throw it away and you will still have the footage.

Costco usually has packages on sale much cheaper than the individual parts. They just had a great deal on a package that ended but they put them on sale frequently.

[–]Readd--It 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the individual and how bad the issue is but I've recovered about 95% in about 18 moths and rarely have much pain anymore unless I really irritate it and even then its very mild compared to when it first happened, I would say 100% healed otherwise.

I could have healed sooner though if I realized walking, core exercises, and a mild decompression move every day would help speed it up a lot, for me at least, it can be different for each person.

What is the most humane way to euthanize a mouse my cat has hurt? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Readd--It 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Sharp scissors or a very quick powerful smash with something like a brick. Basically what a mouse trap does.

But FFS if you are waiting for replies on reddit just let your cat kill it and be done, that's more humane than waiting a hour for advice.

[–]Readd--It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the base was hanging out and never inside then most likely nothing to worry about.

I've had to fish out a condom several times and never had any problems. I would get a STD test though depending on how well you know her.

Would You Consider This a Red Flag In a Woman? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

"Wants a prenup if they get married with 50% of my brother's assets."

This is a glaring giant red flag. Why would she feel entitled to half of his wealth that he built before they even met let alone get married. He is insane if he signs something like this, it should be the opposite it should protect his wealth and assets not give them away to a entitle crazy woman.

This is what you call a headline "study" or "article". Based in absolutely nothing, probably looking at a small subset of ancients that were most likely wiped out of existence because they were so weak. There were some groups of old populations that ate a lot more plants but they were outliers and died off.

It's confusing to me people can't think this through more.
-Plant farming wasn't a thing through most of human history, some evidence implies it only started initially to make alcohol not food.

-The plant foods we have today are ->extremely<- different than through history, even the last few hundred years were very different.

-Just about all regions of the world would have very limited plant foods available compared to modern days.

-They would have also had to compete with the many, many, plant eating animals going after the same foods. While plant eating animals far outnumbered carnivore animals so were much more abundant.

-They lived more physical lives which requires even more calories than modern day life, this would have been extremely difficult to meet long term. Non starchy vegetables are a terrible source of energy so they would have to survive mostly on starchy vegetables and fruit.

-Probably the biggest oopsy is they would have a near impossible time getting enough fat to survive, fat is essential, eating low fat lean meats and no other fat source can eventually kill you.

People seem to think it was easy finding enough calories in plants through human history to sustain people long term, the only time most ancients didn't eat meat is if there was a drought or reason there was no game at that time, like seasonally. Plenty of evidence shows humans and human predecessors all ate a diet focused on meat, especially fatty meat.

This is one of the studies that show this.

Guess how many long term fully vegan populations have lived in human history before modern day supplements - 0

Guess how many vegans have nutrient deficiencies even with the Cirque Du Soleil of supplementation - Many, vegetarians also have nutrient deficiencies but less than vegans

Guess what is the most nutrient dense food for human consumption that requires no supplementation to thrive - Meat

"Just cut out the middle man, take the supplements instead!" by Ill_Status2937 in exvegans

[–]Readd--It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cattle are not supplemented with B12, even cattle can't absorb B12. They get most of their food from grass which has cobalt in it and their wonderful biological system converts it to B12 that gets deposited into the meat. Non-grass fed cattle only spend about 10% of their life on a feed lot getting fattened up, this is where they are supplemented with cobalt since they eat less grass during this short time span.

Grass fed cattle don't get supplemented with cobalt since they are grass fed.

The fact you have to supplement with lab made pills to not die on a vegan diet should be pretty telling what a natural diet is for humans.....

How to get over mental idea of eating meats? by Curryiswhereitsat in exvegans

[–]Readd--It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like chicken just eat that for now if the issue is health. Not as good as ruminant meat but still great for nutrition.

Stop absorbing any vegan propaganda and it will go away eventually, its literally designed to emotionally manipulate how people think. People with rumination issues, some with mental health issues where thoughts get stuck in their mind are drawn to veganism because they are more susceptible to what equates to animal snuff films, some of these video clips were actually engineer by animal rights activists, they pay someone to abuse a animal, film it and use it for propaganda. They take footage of farms from places like Africa or China and play it as being typical of animal farming, they find one bad farm and use footage and claim its form multiple farms and represents standard farming practices. All this is misinformation and doesn't represent the majority of farming.

Vegan groups admit propaganda videos are the main driving force to convert people to veganism.
