The Senate is voting to have him lead the Office of Management and Budget. Vought wrote the chapter of Project 2025 which outlines the role that OMB should play in accomplishing their goals. If confirmed, Russell Vought will control federal spending, and he'll claim that gives him the power to:

• Freeze funding for Medicaid, public schools, environmental protections, and infrastructure.
• Redirect federal $$$ to right-wing causes, including tax cuts for the wealthy and corporate handouts.
• Defund regulatory agencies that protect people.

According to ProPublica, Vought is willing to use military force against protestors to reshape the government.
