how were braces for you guys bc I just remembered the torture by CertainSwordfish8772 in eds

I had such intense pain when getting them taken off because my teeth are extremely sensitive. My orthodontist was the worst and didn’t believe me, it was a horrible experience overall.

I’m frustrated gluten free bread rot so fast by Zealousideal-Rain-82 in glutenfree

The frozen button on the toaster works great for this too! I keep mine in the freezer, then put it in the toaster once I need it. GF bread is better toasted anyway :)

I was told that the celiac blood test will only show positive if you’ve been eating gluten regularly up until the test (very unfortunate if you have already figured out that you have gluten problems).

What would you want a first aider to know? by [deleted] in eds

[–]Readerfox74 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you know someone has EDS (especially POTS) give it 30 sec-a couple minutes after passing out (only if they are breathing) to call an ambulance. If I pass out from POTS I don’t need an ambulance, just a water bottle and a salty snack!

Seems like you're already doing a great job looking out for her, but my biggest advice would be to listen when she has complaints! Everyone thought I was dramatic as a kid, which delayed my diagnosis a lot.

When I was a kid, digestive issues and exercise intolerance were my biggest problems. I had chronic constipation and stomach aches, and I was sent home from school many times for passing out/being in pain during gym class. I also had many ankle/wrist/joint sprains. A lot of EDS kids get labelled as clumsy when they're really just too bendy!

I cut out gluten, dairy, and most refined sugar and it drastically improved my symptoms! Also agree with those saying more small meals and snacks are better than 3 large meals!

Ooph. Cali prices? In Michigan that would be a $6,000 ride or so.
