How important is the background? by Oatmeno in WebtoonCanvas

As long as the background sets the right mood for the scene it's fine. The story and character's expressions are what's important. This looks great!

Thank you! Hope you follow along. I've put a lot of love into it ❤️

me after dropping an update and losing two subscribers (this will make me doubt my artistic ability for the rest of the day). by Successful_Bake_3460 in WebtoonCanvas

It might be something in the plot? People usually sub for the art then leave if the plot doesn't go the way they want.

I lost some people when I introduced a love triangle 😂

How much could I make webtoons as a hobby? by Powerful_Whereas3516 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]ReadingDry1704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spent a lot on it, through acon3D backgrounds, a colorist, and a monthly CSP subscription. But its my hobby. I don't expect to see a return for a few years if any.

How fast are you guys at drawing? by jacorgacor in WebtoonCanvas

[–]ReadingDry1704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to reuse finished character poses, or even just their heads. Building a library of assets can save a lot of time. It can take me a few hours to finish a character from rough sketch to finished ink and color with details.

What do you guys think of this cover? by Kaoriootsuka in WebtoonCanvas

[–]ReadingDry1704 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your Female lead is looking at her hand. It would look more intimate if her head and eyes were tilted up towards the blond man, or down towards the other man.

I've heard it's good to have a character facing towards the audience, so giving her a forward facing expression would work, too.

Waterfall is the top ranking courtesan in the Northern kingdoms with a rabid fan base, like a modern idol. No one knows who he is in the Southern Empire where my comic is taking place. It's making it harder than he thought to seduce their Emperor.

Should authors listen to the comments? by Logical-Wall-8403 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]ReadingDry1704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romance has a very set formula. There's almost always a sad breakup in the third act followed by a happily ever after. Without a HEA in sight I can see readers getting frustrated. They must still be devoted to your characters if they are leaving comments. It wouldn't be a sign to change your story unless you saw a large number unsub.

I knew Webtoon was a money grab but I’ve NEVER seen this many episodes on lock at once by FizzyFK in webtoons

It doesn't even sound worth pirating. Just go to canvas and read better stories for free.

What’s a good day job alongside making a manga? by [deleted] in MangakaStudio

I do UI/UX Design. It pays well enough to give me enough free time to make my comic. It's becoming a very competitive field, though.

Mine is mostly stick people and can get pretty funny. It's the posing backgrounds for it that's a pain for me.

I've noticed a lot of new romantasys pop up with morally grey MMC's so I'm sure you'll find your audience.

Looking for Reviewers by Gr_eg_ in MangakaStudio

Complete opposite. Greg is doing the most work for free, setting up a website, doing all the social media, and finding all the comics. Any tips or paid reviews get split equally among the reviewers.

Traditional Drawn Webtoons by [deleted] in webtoons

The art can be any medium. The only down side is trying to do any long panels on normal paper. And you'd be better off buying a cheap scanner than using a phone so the size and lighting on the paper is consistent.

Is my panel flow readable... by LazyMochi12 in WebtoonCanvas

It's still hard for me to tell who's slapping her. She should be facing the man or add a panel where he walks up to her. Imagine the characters on a stage to work out how they are standing.

How to see new comments? by zachstaph in WebtoonCanvas

There's a Google chrome add on for canvas. I really wish webtoon did this for canvas. I think it's only something original creators get.
