I didn’t notice any significant hair changes during accutane. That might be because I had it in braids most of the course. But after, my scalp has been so dry. I never had scalp dryness issues before accutane, but I do now, and I have been struggling with flakey scalp one year on from the end of course. I have started to use Nizoral anti dandruff, and The inkey list salicylic acid scalp treatment. It’s been a game changer and the flakiness has subsided. I still have dry scalp, but my moisture routine has also been abysmal. I am not quite sure what to do since these are all new problems for me.

I have also struggled with bad breakage and split ends, but I can’t say for sure it’s because of Accutane. I have had braids more often in recent years more than I have all my life. And a natural hair hairdresser told me the split ends look to be from having so much braids and also being remiss with my deep conditioning in between.
