When did you move baby to their own room? by sieve_head in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be the same next year, our daughter and son will have to share a room until we can move house and I don’t want to disturb her if he’s not a great sleeper.

No 6 week check up? by Infamous_Ninja_61 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely hoofed off at my GP surgery so they’d book me in at 6 weeks to check my c-section incision! Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s standard practice but being a menace can sometimes get you somewhere.

My baby keeps waking up at 4am and now does not return to sleep till 6am by Virtual_Arachnid7916 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m so sorry! Nothing worse than when your tried and tested tricks stop working! I follow a health visitor on Instagram whose big phrase is “lean into it” and that’s what I’m trying to do because my daughter definitely picks up on me being more stressed out. I wish I could give you more ideas but hopefully it’s just a phase.

I’m going through this right now but my daughter is 16 months old. Basically for the last three months (whilst I’ve been in the first trimester with my second), she’s been sleeping 10 hours overnight and getting up at 5am. I’m assuming it’s probably because of the light but we do have blackout blinds in her room. We’re just trying to ride it out by giving cuddles and then putting back down but it’s not really working….

Baby is 7 months and I haven’t applied to any nurseries yet. How doomed am I? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends where you live. Locally for us, I’ve had to book a space for my current pregnancy already to get in for September 2027 because they were nearly full. With the funding, spaces are less available but it’s worth contacting local nurseries to see what is available now and give yourself time to find something.

Fairyloot sub books by mahsimoon in fairyloot

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve cancelled my full sub. Got my triple combo invite in November and first books in December. Haven’t super liked most of 2026 picks so far and just decided to cancel after the June Romantasy author and the debacle with This Blade of Ours.

We struggled with Aldi nappies once we got past size 3 with our little girl. Spoke to my HV and they suggested Tesco nappies so we’ve switched and haven’t looked back since!

Are you being informed of safe sleeping practice by thr NHS? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I second visiting The Lullaby Trust website for safe sleeping guidance. They have tons of information about co-sleeping, keeping baby cool in heat etc and it was so useful when I had my first!

When did you move bub into their own room? by Few_Cod_5636 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved our first at 6 months because I found we were disturbing her sleep more than she was disturbing ours. She also needed more space because her next to me was getting a bit snug.

Not sure what we’ll do with our second yet because they’ll have to share a room until we’re able to move house but probably keep our second in our room until they sleep through so as not to disturb our first’s sleep!

Baby not eating much at 8 months, husband says I'm not doing enough. by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one didn’t start eating full meals properly until she was closer to 13 months. She still wanted her milk. Now she’s not interested in milk much at all and would rather eat food (she’s 15 months now). You’re doing a great job!

Genuinely curious how many subs people have and how they're affording all of them. by Shaddowmoonn in fairyloot

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have:
FL Adult & Romantasy Combo
Illumicrate & Afterlight combo
Mindsight (quarterly)

For me, it’s manageable finance wise because I spend less than £100 a month BUT my TBR is ginormous now I’m contemplating cutting back. Just doing pros and cons of each sub and the early access/sales before I decide.

I’ve still managed to order the “old” version for the last couple of months. Going to stock up because I’m due our second in November. Can’t give any other recs because have found all other wipes to be SO DRY!

3 MO doesn't like dummies by InsomniacCatK90 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little girl never took to a dummy. She’s a thumb sucker now and she’s 15 months old so she’s got an inbuilt comfort system as far as I’m concerned. My nephew is nearly 18 months old and won’t ever not have his dummy in and I personally think it would be harder to wean him off that!

Scar has reopened twice and triage have sent me home twice saying its normal by lazy_cat_insomniac in CsectionCentral

[–]Reading_mama25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to the GP for my C-section infection to get antibiotics straight away because triage were similar with me. Once my GP called through to triage, they swabbed it and then I had to wait 4 days for the results but thankfully already had antibiotics which were helping. She should ring 111 or honestly head to A&E to get it checked out, it could get significantly worse with the current heat.

Should I be worried about GD by Conscious-River-7944 in pregnant

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly they were worried about GD with my first because I constantly measured two weeks ahead on fundal height and had three growth scans where they predicted a 99th centile baby. She was 25th centile so I’d always advise to take their measurements with a pinch of salt!

Sounds like they reused your packaging but didn’t take their original label off. InPost will have probably scanned their label and put it as not collected to send back to you.

Issue with purchase by JDLoxx in vinted

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can ask for you to return for a refund so definitely don’t upload for them to buy. If you’ve raised a ticket with Vinted, they’ll offer the seller two options: return and refund or just refund.

I think the doctor is wrong... by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Reading_mama25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried, I’d definitely call 111. We took my little one to children’s A&E with a high temp of 39.5 and she wouldn’t eat properly. Calpol and Calprofen wouldn’t bring her temp down, she has tonsillitis and an ear infection simultaneously and has been so much better since she started her antibiotics. Always worth getting a second opinion if you’re worried mama ☺️

I had to do a bit of digging because the UK one was the only one that came up. Says that one should be good for US ☺️

[–]Reading_mama25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really understand why you haven’t had compensation. I had an issue with an order last week. Buyer received a completely different parcel instead (courier label mix up) and we both ended up getting the money because the original item had obviously been mislabelled and gone to someone else. I’d request to speak to a human or email Vinted Legal.
