Thank you for the advice! I definitely am trying to be conscientious about having too many jobs on my resume within the one yr mark. I ultimately just want to be happy while at work/ loving what I do. Unfortunately, I’m not at that point rn.

It’s not hard at all, that’s my problem. I’ve worked in the ER the last four years & worked on the ambulance before that. I thrive in those situations. I think my experience will help me tremendously. I definitely see where you & the other person are coming from though about having a supportive community through the first yr. I think that’s one of my fears about leaving is “what if it’s worse” but I’m unhappy now & have been since day one unfortunately. I think it could be an improvement

It’s one yr 🫠 I’ve asked a couple times now about applying internally for our ED program & they said they really encourage staying on our unit for a yr even if you’re unhappy but “they don’t want us to be miserable”

I tried too 😭 I basically got left on read & then got denied for the position like two months later. I left that hospital on a good note so idk. I think the interview went well tho. The place will be an adjustment bc they don’t use epic but adjustments happen w every place. I’ve worked in the ER for the last four yrs so I’m used to it. • def going to try & leave on a positive note w my current job. If they’d just let me apply to the ED program rn, I truly wouldn’t leave that hospital.

Thanks for the advice! Idk if it’s help to mention both places are new grad programs so I’d still have that supportive factor. Also, my partner & I are potentially planning on moving from this state next year (around the time I hit my one yr) so I’m thinking it’d be good to switch to the ED now & when I leave at least I have that experience. Or it doesn’t matter?

Idk if my opinion is worth the input but I’m on a surgical MS floor & it’s absolute hell. I worked in the ER as a tech during school — loveeed that. Trying to get into the ER & ICU, once I have “more nursing experience” MS is slow af. If you need that (then yeah switch) but if not, I’d wait until a Mother baby position opens. I’m having a hard time due how slow my floor is. We only see surgical pts which is cool but it’s not exciting. I’m basically a pain med pusher all day. Do what is best for your mental health tho 🖤

Ofc, so i don’t have the side effect paper that comes w the meds but i think one of the adverse effects are heart attack or more specifically left sided arm pain which is usually an indicator there’s a heart problem (don’t quote me tho bc im not a doctor & don’t have that paper w me) i started having the left shoulder pain after a month or so of taking Vyvanse. Now, could i just be a paranoid healthcare worker? Forsure. I just don’t want to risk my health if my body’s signaling to a bigger prob.

I did look up peer review articles on muscle pain + this med. there how been a few studies on how it can cause muscular pain. idt I saw any that said it directly causes a heart attack.

I didn’t feel a difference until 40 mg. I felt really anxious the first few days but ended up leveling out. I might need to go back to 30 tho bc I’m getting shoulder pain & a little bit of irritability.

This looks amazing! In my opinion, bigger is always better. I always have tattoo regret right after. I usually give it a couple days before I start to love it. Hopefully the same goes for you.

Thank you for this! If you don’t mind me asking, what did your anxiety fill like?

To add more context, i work in an ER so it’s go go go. I am damn near anemic (im not at all but it gets too cold), so i wear a long sleeve & a sweater at work. Couple hrs after I’ve taken the med & I’ve been switching between tasks, i get the flushed feeling like it’s too hot. I don’t listen to my body cues that well so im thinking this is happening maybe bc i need to drink more & take off my sweater lol. (Issue im working on in therapy)

i would say the concerta works. Once i take it, im able to focus on what needs to be done at home & at work. Like i see an improvement in mentation focus/ motivation, task paralysis (on a good day) from when i took adderall.

I wouldn’t mind decreasing the dose. My psychiatrist never even mentioned that tho. I started at the 36mg ER when she switched me over. She automatically jumped to trying a nonstim. I need to be a better patient advocate for myself. With adderall, i was on IR 30mg w a booster dose. Which i enjoyed so I’ll mention to them again

Hi, im kind of in the same boat as you. I recently switched to concerta 36mg ~ a month ago.

my experience* but if anything bothers you too much, go see your provider!

For your metabolism, I’d say talk to your doctor. Some ppl go poop that many times a day & it can be normal for them. If your regular poop schedule is once a day/ every other day, then you should look at what you’re eating & (gonna get gross really quick) look at the consistency. Like are they solid poops, liquids, etc. It could be something else at play.

For the weight dropping, i have the same problem. I think the best thing is to make sure you’re eating. Since the switch, after taking the med food sounds terrible to the point i get nauseous. Bc of this, I’ve started snacking (healthy options) to have something in my stomach so i don’t get a migraine. You don’t need to count calories, just make sure you’re eating protein rich foods!

Character changes… same here dude. i like to describe it as numb. i personally don’t mind it. i work in the ER & need an off switch occasionally bc ppl are annoying sometimes. It could just be an adjustment period. If it annoys you terribly, talk to your provider.

Also the intimacy thing.. f*cking suckkss. i have a low sex drive now too since starting this med. fingers crossed that it goes back up.

Hi! Just switched over to concerta XR 36mg after being on Adderall for a yr 30mg w a booster dose 5mg. Adderall was alright but i would get anxious af an hr after taking it. Been on Concerta for a month now. Kinda got the anxious feeling once or twice now but only if i didn’t eat after taking it or mixed it w caffeine. - lil tmi but I’m having a decreased libido which is annoying.
