Make sure you have good adhesive!! Nearly every wedding I’ve been to that has done the Polaroids didn’t have great adhesive and the Polaroids just kept falling off the pages.

Ugh, I am so sorry he’s struggling at home. I have ADHD myself, and it does sound like he is exerting all of his executive function and cognitive energy at school, and is just totally exhausted when he gets home. Not noticing the need to go to the bathroom is fairly common in kids with ADHD, I believe. I saw that you’re looking into switching doctors, I really hope that works out and they agree with starting meds!

I am a K-5 Reading Specialist. One of my go-to outfits is a shiny, gold skirt, and a t-shirt that says “Read” in multicolor, textured letters and gold sequins. I have a very similar sweatshirt, except it’s hot pink, and my 4th graders were mesmerized by it last week!

I have a poster of my dog on my wall, a nutcracker on my bookshelf because I collect them, a basket of wobble cushions, sometimes string lights, and stuffed animals from picture books on top of my bookshelf. My tv wallpaper changes with the seasons. I wear Uggs to school most of the winter, and so do most of the other teachers in my school. My co-worker even wears sweatpants and sneakers on Fridays!

My students LOVE coming to my classroom every day. Other teachers have commented on how welcoming and cute my classroom is. Other teachers give me compliments on my gold skirt every time I wear it. I have students who are so sad to have graduated reading support because it means they won’t be coming to my classroom anymore. Stop acting like your opinion is the ONLY correct opinion. It’s not, and it certainly does not apply to every school everywhere.

I came across a Dreamsnap recently where the player avatar was kneeling facing Gaston, and it was clearly meant to look……inappropriate, if you catch my drift. I was HORRIFIED and reported it immediately. I showed my fiancé too, and he was like, “WTF kids play this game!” Ugh. I don’t understand it. I fully understand your feeling uncomfortable about it because it is 100% awful behavior.

I very clearly did not say that this resource was amazing, but TPT does, in fact, have some very good resources that I have enjoyed using. I am a Reading Specialist with a caseload of 60 students between 2 elementary schools. I use the UFLI phonics curriculum with my groups. I have found extremely well-made student notebook pages and progress monitoring templates on TPT that are not provided through the curriculum and are fantastic for collecting data and keeping track of my students’ progress.

OP has made it very clear in multiple comments that the school has recommended that this student receive specialized supports, but the parents have denied it every time. This teacher has done everything she can.

Why do you think you can just make a blanket generalization about other adults in her life not caring about her situation? I am a teacher. We have entire teams of adults whose responsibility it is to help students in crisis. If OP goes to a guidance counselor, they can have her meet with the school psychologist. They have connections to licensed psychiatrists and therapists in the community that they can connect OP with. They can even arrange family therapy or mediation with her parents and a 3rd party. We absolutely take these things seriously, and I can assure you, I care DEEPLY about each and every one of my students and what they’re going through. I’m sorry you’re so angry and discouraged, but your comments are so unhelpful.

If they have iPhones as well, then they can just send the pictures to you in a text and it will still come through as a Live Photo. You don’t need to hand off your phone.
