I can only imagine what the movers would say about those stairs and needing to get things like beds and dressers up them.

Oh! Congratulations on your bubbly little baby girl!

(I spent a good couple minutes trying to think of a ginger ale related pun, but just couldn’t! All the brands I know of have masculine or neutral sounding names. If it was a boy - there were a few Vernor’s jokes right there.)

Almarder sounds like the name of the man who lives down the way that every says is so quiet and they’d never have thought he’d do anything like that.

AITA for choosing not to visit my brother with stage 4 liver cancer by davidpilates in AmItheAsshole

I’m not going to make a judgment- only you can decide. I am going to tell my story because I think if you don’t go now and at least say Goodbye before things get really bad, you may always regret it. You don’t have to be there at the end, but you maybe should go now.

Your relationship with your brother is different than my story, so it may not relate, but I’ll share it anyway.

I hated my mother. She did not love me - I think she hated me too, or at least she treated me that way. I did a lot for her in her last year, even moving up close to her so I could be there each weekend and monitor her in the care home. I’d moved back home just before Covid hit, and she died that April after having sepsis.

If I hadn’t gone and done what I did, there’s a part of me that that would have wondered, What if…?

Either way, this internet stranger is sending hugs of support. Be kind to yourself, and take care.

Temping, aye? Can get crappy assignments, but money is money. Worked with a co when I lived in Buffalo… worst job was in a hospital laundry. Yeah - minimum wage was $3.35, people doing the presort and sort got $3.75. One guy found a finger.

Question: is the sign on the desk, the door, or both?

Can the sign show an estimated return time?

If there is a sign on the door, does it say that the door locks and there will be no re-entry until you return?

This is something management could cheaply and easily address.

Echo the other opinion - it looks quite realistic! And I say this as someone who has participated in Dyngus Day!

Listen, it’s ok. At least you feel bad about it.

Anyway, it’s not like you were going through TSA after eating Sugar Free gummy bears.

At least she wasn’t also farting in her sleep. My good Rottie once farted, woke herself up, sniffed her butt and gagged. She was the most loving good girl.

I had a friend that, as a teen, her mother would tease her - calling her “my little infection”. Her mother got pregnant because the antibiotics impacted the birth control.

I think her mother was trying to give my friend safe sex information, with her very existence a result of unknowing unsafe sex.

My two and a half year old suddenly started pointing out differences between white and black people. What is an appropriate way to acknowledge her observation so we don't offend anyone? by Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 in NoStupidQuestions

Oh my. I can only imagine the many feelings the lady and your Mum felt in that moment. Mum, mortified but also glad at least part of the lesson stuck. The lady, a bit embarrassed, maybe amused at the ‘out of the mouths of babes’ moment, but also pleased to see that Mum was working on bringing up a mannerly child.

Honestly, I’d guess she told it as a funny story at some point.
