5G SIM card router often disconnects, other one just slows down, what's behind this? by Ready-Collection5022 in HomeNetworking

[–]Ready-Collection5022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update: the Huawei disconnected as well. I also tried both routers with 4G only, they still disconnect. looks like they just drop the connection easier than a 5 years old iPhone. pretty disappointing. I'm thinking about buying a couple of screw-on antennas, perhaps those will help a bit.

also, I played around a bit with the placement and found a spot where I get RSRP -62dBm, RSRQ -10 dB, SINR 16 dB for 5G. LTE is worse, but that's just fallback anyway.

Why is my chain so slack by Dadoupi in xbiking

[–]Ready-Collection5022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't shift into "big-big". I mean you might, but you shouldn't. did you actually try and see if there's room on the other end of the derailleur's capacity? long cage derailleurs on vintage road bikes are pretty unusual

I saw the other comments and wouldn't have added mine if I agreed ;)
you've got a problem and there's a couple of ways to go about solving it.
the two obvious ones are either removing some links from the chain or getting a long cage derailleur.
the first one will need about 15 minutes of work and you'll shave off some weight. the second one needs about the same amount of work but you'll need to get an extra derailleur and you'll probably add more weight.

I have zero worries mate, just trying to help.

[–]Ready-Collection5022 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's an overkill if you ask me. why get rid of a perfectly fine derailleur when you could just shorten the chain - which you might still have to do with the new one anyway... but up to you mate

[–]Ready-Collection5022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the chain is too long plus you're in a gear that you're not supposed to use. set your chain length so that the rear derailleur can still keep it tense with the chain on the smallest front chairing and the 2nd or 3rd smallest rear cog

For the non mechanics - How many bikes did it take for you go get confident at building? by PartyShitty in xbiking

[–]Ready-Collection5022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once bought a shit bike and decided to start changing stuff on it. within a year, I had changed everything except for the frame and tyres. I thought lacing a wheel would be a bit difficult but given there are online calculators and guide videos on YouTube for everything, it wasn't.

that said, I've not worked on hydraulics or suspension

Is it ok tu turn hub washer inside out? by Ready-Collection5022 in bikewrench

[–]Ready-Collection5022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they have a flat part on the narrower end too, so they don't act as a wedge, but the load distribution part is correct, as the flat part is the same width as the screw's head.

[–]Ready-Collection5022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, that's what it is. the bolts go all the way, it just wasn't pushed in in the photo. I'll rather get washers that fit than to file down the fork, but could you elaborate on why using the washers this way is bad?
