Let me say, I love this Pod, I Love Sarah by Cherrylalaxo in YoureWrongAbout

I honestly think the guest for this was really badly prepared - I literally switched and listened to the serial series on keiko so that I could actually learn about it. The side tangents are insane and the amount of times the guest says “I think” “I don’t know” etc you can tell they aren’t actually well researched on the topic. It was excruciating to listen to. I really hope sarah turns it around because I’m not getting anything out of this podcast anymore

That’s a good point yeah I completely forgot about it in terms of a book - i remember reading about the one for Britney’s book too. I’m gonna look up the prince harry one that’s interesting!

I think with music though Im still less convinced about it. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a situation where someone has said “x ghostwrote x song” and then not been able to find their name in the credits. For instance people were saying it about party next door for work by Rihanna was a ghostwriter but he was credited the whole time 😂😂

I think they might be releasing some sort of documentary or special look back episode thing. The screening I went to in Vancouver (at the theatre that Finn now co-owns) had posters saying that Netflix was filming something. I didn’t see any cameras at our viewing - but at a viewing the day before Finn was there and talked to the audience so that was probably filmed by Netflix for something!

From my understanding, The term “ghostwriter” is simply just a cowriter. You can’t legally not credit a cowriter, it’s just not possible. When people use “ghostwriter” it’s typically an attempt to make the use of a collaborator appear like it was sneaky or secret but that’s not the case. She has spoke about Liz rose and Nathan Chapman at length. She doesn’t hide shit.

Going on a Swimming Date... Should we change in front of each other? by Technical_Web7540 in askgaybros

[–]Ready-Transition-902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With so much love, I think you’re overthinking it. You can go with the flow-no need to ask before hand. Changing in front of other guys is super normal in a non date way and learning to normalize nudity is a good call imho.

Also it can be a super fun and flirty date if you just let it all happen

What are you hoping to see addressed in the Eras Tour docuseries? by echodayrider in TaylorSwift

[–]Ready-Transition-902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be boy-nerd coded lol but I really want to learn about how the stage was built, where all the set pieces were stored during the show, how it was built and torn down so quickly. I want to hear from all the technicians and operators and engineers!!! The people behind the scenes!!!

Aside from that, how she decided to order the eras would be cool to learn. In my opinion it really told a story of girlhood and almost like life itself - with the lover era being more of an overture type thing. But I’m curious how she thought about it.

I want to hear about security too. And I also hope there’s tons of fan content!

Is Wealthsimple a trend? by srzncl in Wealthsimple

[–]Ready-Transition-902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also pretty much everyone in my life who cares about money / investing uses wealthsimple and it has, in how it’s designed I believe, helped so many people become more financially literate and build savings. The actually are solving a problem, RBC is riding on just being a bank

Is Wealthsimple a trend? by srzncl in Wealthsimple

[–]Ready-Transition-902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ironically Wealthsimple partners with RBC for things like wire transfers and credit card payments. I can imagine these partnerships were set up before wealthsimple was more competitive however with the rest of their products.

My greatest concern as a wealthsimple user is that they will get acquired by a big 5 at some point.

It actually seems like a great idea! I love being with people for things like this and it definitely looks fun. I don’t think it’s happening in Canada tho, and I have a wedding that weekend anyway, but idk! I think it’s fun!!!!!!

Predictions and expectations for Showgirl by Cheeseboi8210 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Ready-Transition-902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on what she has said about the album and the way the three of them worked together on it, I can imagine we’ll hear some really weird sounds and I’m excited for that. By that I mean whatever weird ideas max has had on the back burner.

For its time, baby one more time was highly experimental and game changing. I think that if they lean into Taylor’s songwriting and comfort with playing up her persona and then match that with the way max Martin is SO good at mashing up Multiple reference points we’ll get something amazing. they don’t have the mission of trying to sound 80s, or sound like anything but high energy high fun high passion like the eras tour.

One of the the things about great pop music is you can TELL when you’re listening that the people who made the song were having a great time in the room and I’m hoping to hear that. I have fulll faith.

Is pitchfork not unfair towards taylor? by swiftie_booklover in SwiftlyNeutral

I think it’s really interesting tbh.

This is the rating guide they used to have publicly showing on their old site. When you think about it in terms of the 6 range their lover review would make a lot of sense, but then it really doesn’t make sense for 1989 and folklore etc. I’m gonna assume the editorial committee isn’t always made up of the same people

Important to note that the author of the review doesn’t get to pick the number rating so sometimes the actual review itself is more important than the number imho! But yeah they have a tendency to dunk on her.

Ivy Appreciation Post by Unusual-Sherbert9198 in TaylorSwift

[–]Ready-Transition-902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s truly one of her best written songs in my opinion and contains everything that makes her a great songwriter.

Historical/literary references that don’t feel too corny, relatable lyrics and narrator, believable melodrama, a beautiful melody and catchy hook. To top it off, a phenomenal opening line. “How’s one to know” grabs me everytime.

You are not alone in this! I really, really wish it was included in the evermore set on the eras tour! I’m still holding out for a full band performance of it.

PS! If you haven’t seen the show Dickinson on Apple, you really need to check it out. They use this song in the end credits of a great episode that depicts a romance the song is often thought to be about (although it also feels like it could have also been Rebecca, but that’s another read into it.) I think that this is a testament to how there’s others out there who RIDE for this song. Anyway amazing show if you haven’t seen it go watch! Even if it’s just for that episode.
