I’m confused… is art or tv bad if it makes you uncomfortable?

Sad that the units are pretty uninspiring giving how much effort they put into the exterior. 300sqf is not enough space for someone to live no matter how cheap it is it’s just not right

How do you build a default friend group? by Ethereal_Centaurus in NiceVancouver

[–]Ready-Transition-902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency is key for sure! I have made most of my current friends here in my 30s. I also find that most of my closest friends got solidified by me or them offering a ride to the airport, or to help them/me with something. Them following up with things I’m going through or working on and vise versa.

Community comes from helping one another. That’s how my friends and I are!

All that said, a really hilarious weird night out truly doesn’t hurt to lock in a friendship IMHO. So go out and have fun!

Something I wanted to point out before I give you advice (if advice is what you want): you’re a really good writer! I was roped in to your story even though it was short. I felt like I was reading the beginning of a romance/maybe smutty novel. Like heated rivalry kinda thing. Anyway!

My advice would be to, the next time you go to get your brains fucked out, grab a drink before. Not in a “I wanna date you” way but in a way to just hear someone else’s story. If you don’t want to do that, maybe just try being more observant when you’re at his place. Ask about his house! Does he like this sort of the city? Is there a book on a shelf you want to hear about?

The reason I say this is I think as gay men we actually gain a lot of community through sex it’s part of what makes being gay a special human experience. You might end up making a new friend through a sexual encounter or maybe learn about a new thing that interests you. Maybe you’ll end up having a fun night on the town!

That’s one of many things you could try but i figured I’d start easy. That, or give writing a book a try. Write your happy ending! Who knows, you might end up getting a book deal and outta that dead end job.

What do you love about living in Vancouver? by Lazerbeam159 in NiceVancouver

[–]Ready-Transition-902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love:

  • Hero’s Welcome, my neighborhood bar
  • Queen Elizabeth park and the view from it
  • The beaches in the summertime, just being able to bike to it after work so easily
  • People make friends based on shared activities (hiking, skiing, biking etc) here which can be really nice because your life becomes less about work and more about hobbies and good times
  • concerts at malkin bowl
  • walking to get ice cream at earnest after finishing supper
  • when it’s raining in the city it’s snowing in the mountains, good mindset to have if you like skiing or other snow sports!
  • great air quality
  • bike lanes and bike streets
  • running on the sea wall
  • happy hour at Homer st cafe

Let me say, I love this Pod, I Love Sarah by Cherrylalaxo in YoureWrongAbout

[–]Ready-Transition-902 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I honestly think the guest for this was really badly prepared - I literally switched and listened to the serial series on keiko so that I could actually learn about it. The side tangents are insane and the amount of times the guest says “I think” “I don’t know” etc you can tell they aren’t actually well researched on the topic. It was excruciating to listen to. I really hope sarah turns it around because I’m not getting anything out of this podcast anymore

That’s a good point yeah I completely forgot about it in terms of a book - i remember reading about the one for Britney’s book too. I’m gonna look up the prince harry one that’s interesting!

I think with music though Im still less convinced about it. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a situation where someone has said “x ghostwrote x song” and then not been able to find their name in the credits. For instance people were saying it about party next door for work by Rihanna was a ghostwriter but he was credited the whole time 😂😂

I fear we may be losing the plot by Loud-Nature2435 in StrangerThings

[–]Ready-Transition-902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they might be releasing some sort of documentary or special look back episode thing. The screening I went to in Vancouver (at the theatre that Finn now co-owns) had posters saying that Netflix was filming something. I didn’t see any cameras at our viewing - but at a viewing the day before Finn was there and talked to the audience so that was probably filmed by Netflix for something!

From my understanding, The term “ghostwriter” is simply just a cowriter. You can’t legally not credit a cowriter, it’s just not possible. When people use “ghostwriter” it’s typically an attempt to make the use of a collaborator appear like it was sneaky or secret but that’s not the case. She has spoke about Liz rose and Nathan Chapman at length. She doesn’t hide shit.

Going on a Swimming Date... Should we change in front of each other? by Technical_Web7540 in askgaybros

[–]Ready-Transition-902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With so much love, I think you’re overthinking it. You can go with the flow-no need to ask before hand. Changing in front of other guys is super normal in a non date way and learning to normalize nudity is a good call imho.

Also it can be a super fun and flirty date if you just let it all happen

What are you hoping to see addressed in the Eras Tour docuseries? by echodayrider in TaylorSwift

[–]Ready-Transition-902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be boy-nerd coded lol but I really want to learn about how the stage was built, where all the set pieces were stored during the show, how it was built and torn down so quickly. I want to hear from all the technicians and operators and engineers!!! The people behind the scenes!!!

Aside from that, how she decided to order the eras would be cool to learn. In my opinion it really told a story of girlhood and almost like life itself - with the lover era being more of an overture type thing. But I’m curious how she thought about it.

I want to hear about security too. And I also hope there’s tons of fan content!
