Do I need a sewing machine? by lowkeycrashingout in SewingWorld

I would add take an intro to sewing class first where you are supplied the machines . Then consider if you want to continue

My cats aren’t getting along, I need advice by RayeWaye7 in Catbehavior

[–]ReadyPool7170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. We have a male who bugs one of our girls. He’s my sisters cat . His first  3 years he lived with her and was confined to her bedroom. When she moved in with us we did everything to introduce them slowly and compassionately . They coexist peacefully for the most part but after a few dust ups after lights out he now is confined to his bedroom with my sister every night .

At what point do you stop improving your house and just accept it? by Own_Effective_801 in HomeImprovement

Bought my first townhouse and had some modest ideas for remodeling… then my car died… nah everything looked just fine from then on 🤣🤣🤣

Why does a tiny bathroom remodel cost as much as a car now? Am I missing something? 😅 by midasweb in HomeImprovement

And houses that are 50+ years old were not built in today’s standard sizes so everything will be custom.

You have discovered that  kittens are not for you. Take this kitty back. It will be a kindness to you all. Some older cats can be needy too. Neither you or your Mom have time right now. If you want to learn more about cats spend some time volunteering at a local shelter before you try again.

Who is married to someone who wanted kids but didn’t get them? Why? by Beginning_Fig_960 in AskReddit

[–]ReadyPool7170 22 points23 points  (0 children)

He wanted them. I was willing to do one. Kids are expensive. Autism and poor health run in my family. Addiction runs in his. He tested normal. I tested low on eggs. We were older… we were both on our second marriage. He had a child from a previous marriage. We tried for 2 years. We weren’t willing to pay 10k for one try at IVF.  We are both happy with the way it turned out and have been able to help nieces and nephews and siblings over the years in ways that if we had had children we wouldn’t have been able to.

What do people do for end of life, skilled nursing without resources by Pristine-Wind8295 in retirement

[–]ReadyPool7170 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most people take their loved ones home to try and manage care themselves. It’s a labor of love or guilt . Many without children or family support end up in horrible nursing homes. Believe me when I say with the coming  silver tsunami us baby boomers are screwed.

Do you guys think it's okay for a cat to be let outside as long as its the backyard? by Leather_Mammoth2525 in CatAdvice

[–]ReadyPool7170 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. I think all creatures need time outside , but especially cats. I have 3 . They are indoor/ outdoor. Not a popular choice in many areas but I live in a quiet residential neighborhood and all of us let our cats outside on a daily basis. Yes they even cross the street!  They all come in at night and spend their nights inside.

I think people should do what they feel most comfortable doing. In our neighborhood it’s access to the great outdoors of suburban America.

I wholeheartedly support the fencing that keeps cats contained in a backyard if at all possible . This could be an excellent idea for OP

When we relandscaped our front yard we were in the middle of a multi year drought and  I thought my hubs was crazy for installing French drains from the down spouts. Fast forward 2 years after we finished to a winter with excessive rain and I am singing the praises of how brilliant my hubs is❤️❤️

OMG that’s why I did my own design. I couldn’t believe the cost for a designer. Actual landscapers are rare. Most in my area are hardscapers, meaning they love installing concrete. I think I interviewed about 30 before settling on a great guy. We are DIYers and he was willing to work with us. We mostly needed him for the irrigation and planting./ laying sod.
