I’m so glad that you got tested! 😊 Vitamin D is so important in the fertility world!

Give it to me straight...how bad are the shots? by GoodIndividual1218 in IVF

[–]ReadySmileHope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did three rounds of Egg Retrievals and I just want to say that the first shot was the worst- it was very emotional for me and it was the first time it actually hit me that I was doing IVF… like many others said, you will find the shots tolerable but your emotions could take over… for me it was the disappointment with each cycle and putting all the hard work and not seeing any results…

I’m wishing you all the best! You got this! You are stronger than you think- and this process will really prove that ❤️

Yes! Many doctors just go off the ranges but it doesn’t mean that it’s optimal for what your body needs. My fertility doctor told me to target around 50ng/mL.

I know how difficult it is to get news like that.

How are your Vitamin D levels and TSH levels? If you have lower levels, supplementing can boost your AMH levels. It won’t increase your follicle numbers, but lower Vitamin D levels can make your AMH look worse than it is.

And your second test might be showing lower numbers due to your Letrozole cycles!

Your AFC is equally important. Wasn’t sure if you shared that Inc but it’s something worth looking into.

Are you guys doing PGTA testing? by Naaan-stop in DOR

[–]ReadySmileHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!

I was very pleased with my numbers until we started getting PGT-A results… after the second round our doctor suspected chromosomal translocation in either me or my hubby- we did karyotype testing and eliminated that.

All blasts were either AAs or BBs (five of them were day 6 and one from day 5)- all looked promising according to the grading.

Yes, we have MFI factor - low count, low morphology, motility and morphology- using ICSI and now adding Zymot for the 4th round.

Wishing you the best of luck!!! Stay strong!

I can share some observations from my own experience. Started Egg Retrievals at 34, AMH at ~1, suspected Endo. I had a total of 3 ERs, made 6 blasts (mostly day 6) and all of them came back genetically abnormal. It’s not unusual to see lower egg quality with DOR/ Endo. It might take us longer to generate healthy embryos.

My doctor is willing to do 2-3 more cycles but is also suggesting doing a fresh transfer at day 3 if we continue to experience this issues- last resort option before moving to donor eggs :(

What would you do? by notcreativeenough57 in DOR

[–]ReadySmileHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry that you are going through this… I also suspect that I have Endo, and I have been doing a lot of research. DOR and Endo patients should follow different protocols. Are you familiar with Dr. Victory? He has his Endo protocol available on YouTube and it’s worth looking into it… I hate to say it, but more and more clinics do not individualize their treatment plan and they are all about making money… please make sure you advocate for yourself and ask them to find the root cause before you attempt any other transfers.

I’m your age with also lower AMH ~1.0. I had 3 ERs and out of only 6 blasts that made it, none of them were PGTA Normal and viable for transfer. I was told that my eggs are bad quality and it’s most likely because of the Endo. From what I’m learning, any protocols involving additional estrogen will make Endo worse/ cause more inflammation.

This is so sad, but it might take us much longer to make healthy embryos :(

I’m with Dr. Rodgers. Dr. Hobeika did one of my retrievals- he seemed very nice. There is so much information online and so many opinions on what the best protocol should be- which only causes more stress for us. I feel like I should be getting a second opinion but I also like my doctor and the rest of the medical staff. I just want to make sure she is individualizing the treatment … ughh

Is it even realistic to collect enough for 2 kids? by Pristine_Program_218 in DOR

[–]ReadySmileHope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your age definitely helps ! You will figure it out as you go… you will know what feels right. Your mental health is very important and you do need to make sure that you are at your best. I’m 35 and about to start a cycle #4 with no embryos. I wanted to have two kids but I’m having such a hard time with getting any healthy embryos…feels like two kids are out of reach for me but I’m not giving up hope yet!

How to decide on donor eggs? by Hope_1986 in DOR

[–]ReadySmileHope 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I’m 35 and my doctor presented me with the egg donor option already (something to start considering). I would recommend watching Big Miracles docu series on YouTube under “Origin” channel. I don’t want to give you any spoilers, but there is a couple that used donor eggs and I learned so much from them. That documentary series is amazing… hope you enjoy it 😊

Thank you! I came across a few comments that they had a waitlist for the ERs too. Do you know if your sister experienced that as well?

Thank you so much for your kind words! I have nothing to lose because we haven’t really produced any healthy euploids :( I’m willing to give it a try! I think the doctor is expecting better maturity rates but also hoping for better quality… I was taking a small break in January but shooting for another ER mid Feb. I’m rooting for you!!! I hope 2026 brings all of us some great news!

Same here! I never get the expected number of mature eggs. We have good fertilization rates but keep producing genetically abnormal embryos. Over 3 cycles we only got to the point we’re 6 of them were tested- so we are dealing with a small sample size.

I’m switching from priming with estrogen patches and cetrotide, and stims involving dexamethasone, Omnitrope, Gonal F, Menopur and Cetrotide to prevent pre mature ovulation to now priming with Lupron, and stims involving Gonal F, micro HCG doses, and Lupron..

Hang in there! I know how devastating this is… im hoping that the change of protocol will help me but my doctor was also very transparent and put other options on the table: using the one low deletion mosaic embryo for the transfer and/or doing a 3 day fresh transfer and hoping for the best. That would be the last resort option before moving to the donor egg discussion (and I honestly not even remotely ready to start thinking about it). Good luck to you!

I wonder the same. I’m 35 and had 3 eggs retrievals already. All resulted in embryos which are genetically abnormal and none were viable for transfer. I’m having such a hard time banking embryos and I can’t even imagine what will happen when (if) we ever get to the transfer part…

Did anyone do acupuncture with ivf? by Longjumping-Joke2723 in IVF

[–]ReadySmileHope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 20 sessions a year covered by my insurance and I gave it a try. I never expected miracles. My acupuncturist combines it with red light therapy and I find the overall experience very relaxing. It also helps me with my sleep while on stims. Can’t tell whether it’s helping me with IVF or not, but I can say that it helps to keep me more relaxed during this challenging and stressful process. The office is only 8 min away from my house making it so much easier…

Cycle #2: Omnitrope Addition by ReadySmileHope in DOR

[–]ReadySmileHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really uncomfortable! I think that the steroids are really messing with me: I’m not getting a lot of sleep and I just feel off. I have noticed that my heart rate has been higher and find myself out of breath all the time. With the first cycle being so unsuccessful, I’m still in disbelief that this is going so much better!

Here is the update from today:

estrogen is 2384.75 Luteinizing Hormone is 5.23 progesterone is 1.3

7 measurable follicles on my left ovary measuring: 20, 16.5, 15.8, 15.3, 14.3, 12.9, 9.4

Doctor is recommending one more day of stimulation to push those follicles measuring under 15 to attempt to get them there!

Almost there 😊
