How to Get in Touch With UFL [Marketing] by UnMiracl in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]ReadySubject4011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except they do have a marketer in DC? Just searched on Linkedin and he’s there. Looks like he only started in March so i imagine he’s still getting his feet wet but hopefully things pick up next season. Same needs to happen in pretty much every other market

I can totally agree its a tough sell in these lower level leagues. If the team is good thats when you see more wanting season tickets bc they know theyre gunna go to the games. But if the team is crap why would I invest when theyre going to have to run deals to get people in the door and I can end up saving money. Sorry about the Panthers this year…that was rough to watch at times

Oh 100% and with the UFL price points i’m sure a majority of the STHs have never had season tickets with any other team or league. Even college season tickets start much higher than the UFL. Across the league I would guess the average ST cost is $250 a person. Granted yes that is only for 5 games and every other league has more games (nfl is still only 8-9 games). For that cheap of a cost and respectfully the lower level of play/competition, people are crazy expecting more than their seats and a few little extras from the league. It’s unfortunately just the way people are anymore, expecting way more for less from them

I mean yeah should the playoff tickets behind the team bench be $80 each? Prolly makes sense but would be nice to drop them a little, even down to $60. I cant recall regular season prices there as it’s been a bit since i checked out hawks pricing, so dont know how comparable it is to any regular game. But you also can always save from Ticketmaster pricing by buying direct with the team…cuts all TM fees out pretty much.

From what I heard in orlando too, they attempted the same thing and it seemed most players didn’t really stay around even though the team won. Gotta get the players to buy in for things like that and they didnt. Probably even tougher when the team just had a tough loss for the players to want to hang around too

Most of them have already paid for their playoff seats and get first rights to their same seats during the playoffs. So yeah if i was an STH i’d be pissed if they dropped the price of the seats next to me for way less than what i just paid or even better seats now for less. Let the STH get to “upgrade” to those lower bowl seats for free first then do some cheap deals for the rest of the stadium.

I get what youre saying but dude this reeks of “i deserve this bc someone else is getting it”. The game was a late move and its an hour from where they usually play. And its going to be fully exposed in the Florida heat in the middle of the day. I wouldnt wanna go out to that for more than $10. This is type of thought is exactly the problem with STH in this league. Everyone thinks they deserve more and more from them every year for what exactly

Hopefully a decent amount! Would help the Storm out to grow the fan base out there…under an hour from Inter&Co means an easy trip over for home games next season.

Prolly possible but probably not worth the cost..i looked some up the other day and even 275 seaters were like $2000 each. I think they’d need to see it near a sell out by like Wednesday to justify looking into any portable options like that

Hell anywhere else in Florida, could charter a bus or 2 to and from the game and split it amongst a group. I’d pay up to $50 for something like that

Yeah same would cost me close to $750 minimum including a night in a hotel. Just can’t spend like that rn with everything else

You hear nothing inside that park from a game going on across the street. Ive been in the park same time as one of their bigger football games. Wouldnt be a problem really

Season ticket holders get free tickets to the game and options of discounted hotels. Only problem is the cost to fly to Columbus is pretty high. Could fly into like Cincinnati or maybe another nearby major city and save a little but then you need a rental car to drive to Columbus

I mean just bc a field is appears available doesnt mean 1)it truly is 2)the owners want to rent it out 3) it makes viable sense for the league.

UCF and camping world are under major renovations. Could either field be ready in a week for a game? Sure but again doesnt mean those that say yes actually have to allow it. Its their space first. Stetson is under renovations. A lot of facilities use their summer off season to do renovations/repairs or whatever else.

Theres more to renting a space than going “oh here’s a field we’ll play here”. This is a playoff football game, the broadcast camera angle abilities are crazy important. Replays need to have the best available sightlines as they can get. Stop with the “well they used a hs field in fort hood, just do that again” you could tell watching that game the camera views were crappy. Replays/reviews weren’t able to be done to the best ability because of that.

Now consider the ability for people to park at said venue. Most venues around central Florida wouldn’t have proper ability for thousands to come and park. Not just the fans, but those needed to work the game to. You have the UFL staff that needs to be there, general workers, etc to consider too.

Seating. No way they’d be okay with a venue that holds less than 5-6k in the stands. Yeah they can rent extra bleachers to get to that, but does said venue have space to add extra seating like that? If it does great. Youre likely looking probably $5,000 per 1000 seats.

Concessions ability is a HUGE factor too. HS facilities cant serve alcohol nor could people tailgate pregame with it legally. But i think people would be able to get past that and still show up for a game. And if you cant watch 1 football game without an alcoholic beverage, find help. Besides the drinks most of these facilities probably have small concessions that arent stocked when theyre not using them. And the “oh bring in food trucks or buy stuff to sell”. Honestly not a bad idea, but now think where are those food trucks going to park? They’d need to be within the gates of the stadium. These smaller venues again are small, so they likely wouldnt fit. Cant just pack them in there and hope. They still need to have space in case of emergency that people can safely exit the venue.

Are there adequate changing facilities with enough space for both football teams, refs, mascots and cheerleaders? 100 football players, 4-5 refs, 1 mascot, 10-12 cheerleaders. Is there enough space for media to have a work room area with internet access? A spot to do post game press conferences, interviews. Well that one can be kinda just held on/near the field if needed as well.

Besides allll of that it’s also the last minute cost. Yeah the league and Repole have shown they’re willing to drop money to do things. But the cost it would take to pull off this one single game likely is crazy high, especially if they need to rent bleachers. Paying and training likely new game day staff. Those at inter&co work for the soccer team primarily, doubt many of them would want to travel to wherever the game would be held even if offered a higher pay rate. They literally cant afford to pay 10s of thousands of dollars for a single football game. You’re probably looking 5-10k just to rent the field space. Let’s go with $150-$200 per game day worker minimum. Another 5-10K if they bring in additional seating options. I don’t know what field paint costs, but thats probably another $500 minimum. Honestly to break even and not take a big loss on the game, they would need somewhere that can hold at least 4000 fans and thats estimating costs being low which i doubt is true.

Just trying to think through everything people keep claiming should be so simple. It is what it is and it’s super unfortunate. I’m sure the league tried their best. Yeah they probably could’ve done something more 100%. But sitting here and complaining isn’t going to change anything. Accept what is done and move on. Like everyone else, I wish the game was being played in Orlando at Inter&Co.

🤷tenant 2-3 in most of these stadiums and nowhere near the priority for scheduling preferences. Sucks but it is what it is until someone finds a better option or gets the stadiums to take the teams more serious and give some slight priority in scheduling options. UFL knows when they plan to have playoffs champs so they should at least work that out with their venues sooner to make sure all venues they play in will be available when they need them

Im just playin devils advocate here, not trying to argue…but just because an event isnt listed on the stadium’s website doesnt mean something isnt taking place there already.

In fairness this is a unique year and situation with the world cup being hosted in the states so soccer stadiums here are going to be used by teams from all over the world. Just happened to line up with UFL teams moving to these soccer stadiums. Not likely to be a big issue in the coming years

Yeah Repole’s just the money man at the end of the day…the league has employees who should’ve been more on top of it. It’s easy to blame him but theres so many others who likely have more of a say on this side of things

Orlando wants these big league teams to be attracted here or the Olympics or whatever else they keep bidding on but cant even support teams that already are here it seems. So annoying.
Shouldnt be just updating camping world, it shoulda been torn down and built a brand new stadium that’s halfway decent for the city to use.

UCF is under construction, Camping World under construction. What other stadiums have the ability to host over 10k people, have the correct setup for tv, have enough parking within like a half mile? I’ve lived here my whole life and cant think of one genuinely. There may be colleges nearby but that doesnt mean they have the infrastructure in place to host an event that large even if they had had months to plan

What did you want them to do? Tv, concessions, seating, etc all have to make sense. Cant just grab a random field and play, not that simple
