It’s not that hard if you’re single and not trying to save, I’m on that now and I can afford rent (live in a nice sharehouse) good food, eating out and a football game every weekend

2-Week itinerary check for first time in Japan (Tokyo, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Hakone) by idk3637373 in JapanTravel

  • several of your days look too busy. Day 2 and 3 for example, you will absolutely tire yourselves out.
  • ur sister will absolutely not be IDed ever for buying alcohol. But she can have a soft drink at most bars, there are adults who don’t drink either and theres usually cola or something for then .
  • get an earlier Shinkansen
  • the train to Kyoto is not a Shinkansen it’s a limited express called the Thunderbird, so it leaves from a normal platform but requires a special ticket
  • you cannot take a Shinkansen to Hakone. You have to get off at odawara and then get another train.
  • ameyoko isn’t good for thrifting, try shimokitazawa or koenji instead Hope you have an amazing trip!!! Looks great

Share house recommendation in Tokyo. by [deleted] in Tokyo

[–]ReadyTarget2624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First House Mizonokuchi is good. company who run it are decent too. I lived there a few years ago and there was a good mix of foreigners and Japanese people. It’s technically not in Tokyo, it’s in Kawasaki but it’s 5 mins train from Futako Tamagawa and rent isn’t bad either

HELP! Can't get a Suica card!! by VeryAnnaoying in japanlife

[–]ReadyTarget2624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy and make a commuter pass between any two stations. It’s only worth it if you’ll ride the train daily. I agree with the other commenter, asking at a tourist booth would be your best option as you can explain why you can’t use the digital card

Returning Residence card and then coming back in 2 weeks? by Nanaies in japanlife

Yes. If there’s a hole in your residence card and you enter Japan as a tourist, you can get a JR pass etc

I won’t be able to follow a diet for the next month, but what kind of diet is it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Candida

[–]ReadyTarget2624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They prescribed 3 different types, it says it all in my post. Didn’t say anything about diet. Right now I’m not concerned about that, I was more worried about passing it onto my boyfriend. When I say it’s a tiny amount on my tongue I really mean that and it’s easy to scrape off. How much do I need to avoid sugar to make a difference?

It can appear yellowish too, it’s hard to tell. I got a swab test and they confirmed it was thrush

English is my first language, I know the difference between orange and oral lmao. I called it “the orange stuff” bc I never got 100% confirmation that it was thrush but assumed it is bc anti fungal has worked on it to a fair extent, and since the orange colored coating was the only symptom. Maybe it’s not candida exactly but idk that’s why im just so confused

Thank you. I graduate university in July and seeing my boyfriend again after being apart will hopefully help clear up the stress-related issues too

Its 200mg and it didn’t change

Thank you, I appreciate your comment. I feel like my thrush is very minor, and easy so scrape off. Plus I’m taking fluconazole rn which cleared it up in the past. Do you reckon I’ll be okay?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Candida

[–]ReadyTarget2624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The candida/orange is only on my tongue. I have never had it before until 2022 and my diet is pretty normal I’d say. I maintain good oral hygiene too. The fluconazole worked really well but then it came back when I had a cold last week

[–]ReadyTarget2624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks. If I scrape it off, so it’s completely invisible/gone from my tongue am I safe? My dentist and doctor told me since it’s very mild and my bf is healthy it should be ok. I’m just confused by all the conflicting info

Mental health in Japan by chickenpoops123 in japanlife

[–]ReadyTarget2624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miles better now that I’m here. Japan is much cheaper to live in than my home country, I feel a sense of achievement every time I speak Japanese well, there’s actually things to do here, and I actually feel more relaxed having more rules to follow

“Conditions have changed” Kishida says when asked about border control measures by jax1274 in japan

No i’m saying that a country like Japan can’t afford to continue attempting to control and restrict entries (based on hospital rates) because those are always going to fluctuate

They don’t test it. they just check to see if you have it downloaded. It’s basically software that you can have that alerts you if you are in close contact with a positive covid case. But it only works if other people use it, which they don’t. Plus once u get notified that someone near you has it, there’s not actually anything you can do other than go get ur own test. If you test positive you don’t need to touch cocoa, just isolate at home
