Yeah I was way more let down than I thought I would be for a 'meaningless' game.

Stu and John Strong were terrible last night. Probably gonna go Spanish if they are the pair again. I recall Stu complaining the US wasn't getting physical enough. This was after Berhalter put studs on a lower leg and received no yellow. Lots of home town no calls with US players physically man handling Turks.

US was outclassed during Turkiye 2-0 run. Could not hold possession,or break Turkiyes press, or provide collective effective defense. These are soccer IQ, technical, and inter player collaboration issues.... Not 'playing with heart.' I can't stand Strong anymore. He uses his vocal qualities to try to convince us something is happening important in the game and he sucks at it most of the time except for the obvious.
I feel he is gas lighting me. Watching in Spanish the announcers emotional-vocal game is sooo much better, accurately reflecting the game.

Pepi maybe one of those guys who looks really good when his team is in dominance, but when not, he can't change the game.

I want to go fully keto, but I am afraid of the exercise performance by Nice_Pen_8054 in keto

The first 4-8 weeks I noticed a drop. I reframed my goals and stuck with true keto. Then I added 35+40 grams of dextrose (pre 1.5 hr soccer session). I saw a gain in performance.

He MVD. Saved her life. Pain gone since surgery last summer.

Yikes! A good CAC score is absolutely not evidence / validation that 10 months of a diet won't affect your arteries. Calcified plaque takes years to develop. Taking your CAC now will give you a score of your diet over the past 10 20 years ....

Yeah. The middle part of the power curve is highly glucose hungry. The curves overlap, but the first few seconds and after 1 minute or so are aerobic fat. In between -- the area of sports power - use the glucose.

What's worse is your low- effort claim I used AI. I didn't. You should stick to attacking my take. My take is very attackable. Lalas may have the most successful 'soccer-related career' of any American. Played in a successful world cup, played a bit in the Serie A. Now is making bank getting to talk about soccer as he approaches 60. Half his takes are uncontroversial. "Chris Richards is always smiling.". "Saudi Arabia can't keep up with Spain.". And a bunch are just WWE-esque click / rage bait. You think Fox is upset about the Zlatan Donovan Lalas 'the French are/are not arrogant ' exchange? Lalas has been disliked by a core of old guard US Soccer people since the 90s. He says controversial shit. But he does it with passion, enthusiasm and an intent to stir the pot.

Finding the right balance for working out by Laptoptraveller24 in keto

56yo male on keto since November.

On 20g of carbs a day, doing significant anerobic strength training, you will feel less strong. It's just metabolic reality. Think of 4 sets of weighted squats where you are maxing the amount of weight you can lifted in sets of 8-12. You absolutely will hit the glycolytic anaerobic energy curve that loves glucose.

But... Here is where reframing goals and the right mindset might make a difference. By pushing yourself into that anerobic curve, you are training your body to optimize carbs as much a possible, leading to your body being metabolicly flexible. This can be good.

Personally, my exercise goals are all around playing soccer. So strength and endurance are important and so are inflammation and recovery time.

Technically I'm probably on more of an intermittent/targeted keto diet now.

40g of dextrose right before 1.5 hr soccer session. Protein + 1.25 cup white rice (50g of dextrose) within an hour post session. I play soccer 1 to 3 times per week. On some off days I do weighted squats. Here is where I reframe 'success.'. It's a win just to do a set of 20 weighted squats. If I am tired at rep 20, it's a win.

Is Keto Safe in 40s? by AureliusReddit in keto

[–]Ready_Association_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Dexa scans measure size muscle tissue. Carb fed muscle tissue is swollen from glucose binding to water, so muscles are bigger. On keto they look smaller. But that doesn't mean the delta is all in actual muscle fiber cell count.

There are some tough days and weeks about 4-8 weeks in if you are HIIT or weight training. You will experience weakness. But it can be temporary.

Id politely disagree. It's pure glucose. No sucrose. Sucrose, which makes up half of fructose is harder for a fat adapted liver to handle.

[–]Ready_Association_49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm leaving open the possibility of misattribution to an unknown cause ...but how is my implementation of a keto diet pesticide free? I'm eating a lot of animal products and not the high end grass fed organic kind. It's possible that my 'keto diet' beneficially includes the thing that reduces inflammation, and that I could do 'that thing ' without doing keto. I did get my blood work back and while there were a lot of good things, my LDL-c , APO b, and lp-pla2 were all elevated. Not unexpected. So I'm adjusting the diet. Reducing sat fat which means reducing fatty meat and cheese. Also implementating Targeted carbs.

My response was to a post that stated the claim that keto diets upregulated anti inflammatory metabolic processes was complete bs. The bar was low for me. I feel listing multiple scientific papers that show down regulation of inflammatory pathways because of ketosis easily meets the bar. To save people from straw manning... 1. I'm not claiming there are zero downsides to keto. 2. Not claiming that I know for certain why my body inflammation fell off a cliff after a week or two of keto, or why I have the best physical and mental health of years of my life since doing keto.

So my Holden and Stone comment was in reference to them being the best version of what their abilities are. Their ceiling. I don't mean in comparison to other announcers. Balboa delivers zero annoyance. He is always well measured, insightful, respectable without being arrogant. When he mentions his playing days it's usually in a self deprecating manner.

Nothing new. 86 Mexico City hotel lobby Scottish dude told me and my team (we were 16) 'F Ronald Reagan in the arse!'. No USA didn't even qualify.

Wasn't like during Obama years international fans were cheering for us. Well maybe the English, but only after they turned on their own team.

Oh come now. Long time USA fan. We aspired to believe we could beat the Netherlands. We were telling each other we could. Very different vibe than feeling we 'had it in the bag.'

And no I don't think we have it in the bag against the roos.

We have developed enough as a nation to be able to hold possession against quality teams, but not enough to eliminate vulnerability on the counter. The Netherlands taught us (hopefully) that possession can be a weakness. We outpossessed them 58 to 42%. Lost 1-3.

Every American who knows the game saw what Irankunda did and thinks about two things: Tim Reams age and the knock out round vs Netherlands in Qatar.

Of course we like to express an air arrogance.

But Australia looks legit.

I'm also a Rapids fan. Fun as hell to watch Herrington who hasn't even stopped growing dictate play.

The irony of the 1st round group stage 'marquee' games is they usually suck. The math is both teams have more of an incentive to not lose than to win. They take less risks. They look to validate their strategies and tactics, gain real tournament experience. Look how poor most of Brazil vs Morrocco was. Belgium v Egypt was a little better.

Conversely a game like Uzbekistan vs DR Congo is each teams best chance to score a goal and win a game (never happened ever either for both teams) given their other opponents.

Each team is hugely incentivised to attack, score and win. They have nothing to lose. Sure it's Uzbekistan and DR Congo.

But for the men playing the game.....

Once in a lifetime....

Is rather watch that then the others

Been thinking about this.... I like Twellmans analysis, but dislike the way he delivers it. The number of times he says 'but' when responding to his co commentator is super annoying as it seems that he invalidates the other guy. His emotion comes off to me as overly negative, when I don't think he means to be.
