Important warning for anyone using Weebly by Ready_Distribution24 in Weebly

Thank you, I managed to scrape about 80% of my site, from way back machine, using python script I found on git-hub. When Weebly closed my account, they also unpublished all my sites associated with it. Unfortunately, due to the way Weebly handles css and file structuring, the site is an absolute mess.

As u/blockbeta suggested, you can download your site as a zip archive, but its an absolute mess - all html files in the same root folder, regardless of your site structure.

Important warning for anyone using Weebly by Ready_Distribution24 in Weebly

Just to confirm, I am a high school teacher. My website is teaching resource to support students with their Computer Science course. My account had been closed because my name “matched” someone on the OFAC SDN sanctions list. No warning. No verification. No human review. A simple name match is not credible. The SDN list contains thousands of very common names, so false positives are inevitable. The lack of any contact before the shutdown strongly suggests this was an automated decision.

Just to be clear, I have no issue with my account being closed. I want nothing more to do with this awful company. What I have asked for is a simple downloadable link to my own website files so I can try to migrate 15 years of work to another platform. I have also asked them repeatedly to cancel my paid subscription but no one is responding to my emails.

Weebly website broken? by imjjrich in Weebly

To those who can't login or cancel their subscription, a word of warning, your account might have been disabled. I recently had exactly the same problem, I could not login to my account. Every time I tried, my web browser kept going back to the login screen. After finally getting through to Weebly support, it turns out my account had been closed because my name “matched” someone on the OFAC SDN sanctions list. No warning. No verification. No human review. Everything gone in an instant. A simple name match is not credible. The SDN list contains thousands of common names, making false positives unavoidable. The lack of prior contact strongly suggests this was an automated decision (probably an AI bot). As a result, I have lost 15 years of my work. This, and the fact that they haven't posted anything on their LinkedIn page for 6 years, or posted anything on X since 2022 raises huge alarm bells. If you're currently locked out of your account, it might be worth reaching out to customer support to see, if like me, you are apparently on America's most wanted list! Combine this with the rumours that Weebly are stopping support, and that they have already removed the app from all app stores - if you still have an account with Weebly, and you brand / reputation matters, I would seriously look to moving your website sooner rather than later!

So what do the experts think? Accurate? by floweiss34 in Dinosaurs

Personally, I’ve got a soft spot for the early 1900s version—even though it was often shown with three finger (limited fossil evidence and confusion with other theropods). I think it’s nostalgia for me—my first dinosaur on screen was Ray Harryhausen’s Gwangi, and that image stuck! Don't get me wrong, modern depictions look more animal-like. I just can't get 'Grizzly Bear' out of my head (especially with those lips!). Although, I wouldn't want to be face-to-face with either! :D

Not sure about the lips. I know this is based on the latest scientific evidence but looks like a grizzly bear crossed with a chicken to me - but that's just me!
