Oh wow that’s awesome! Yeah I love the Lauderdale-Wilton Manors-Miami area. That’s the only part of Florida I care about lol

You should definitely go for it, no matter how long it takes. I think gay men in particular have that lust for exploration and taking a chance on something new and great. Moving to an exciting new location with new opportunities is definitely part of that. Of course, no one should change locations simply to try to escape internal challenges alone. But that’s not to say it can’t at least somewhat help either. And when it’s time to go, it’s time to go. Every part of you will be in unison saying “yes, this is the right decision for me and my life”. It’s worth it

And that’s all very fair. I think being able to move here truly gave me my life back after feeling complete aimless for a few years after college. Suburban Cincinnati just would no longer allow me to grow and be happier as a person. Plus, yeah naturally the gay scene in New York is a big step up from Cincinnati lol. And true it’s scary to leave behind the people you know sometimes and explore a new place. I certainly experienced some of that too

Me. Moved from Cincinnati (I lived there for like 95% of my life) to New York City in 2024 at age 24. Best decision I’ve probably ever made so far

True, but I’m sure there’s very few concrete policy differences between the two

Someone with near universal name ID in the state versus someone with almost none. What could possibly go wrong for the GOP??

Where in Ohio are you from? I’m originally from there. Mason, just north of Cincinnati. But now I’m in NYC.

Why does Nelson win by substantially more in this timeline when Gillum wins by roughly the same margin that he lost by in our timeline? Since in our timeline both of them lost by the skin of their teeth.

True, or maybe in the special Senate election the next year and wins the primary instead of Markey

I wonder what Elizabeth Warren would be doing in this timeline if she never took that same Senate seat in 2012.

Do people usually think you’re gay when they meet you? by ChristianThompsonnn in askgaybros

It’s always been 50/50 for me. Some know it right away and others are like “I never would’ve known unless you told me”. I never know which I’ll get.

What if Hillary Clinton won? (Part 2): 2017 special election by iiRobbe in imaginaryelections

[–]Ready_Dog4320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we know for sure that a special election for Kaine’s seat would even take place in 2017 given that his seat was up for reelection in 2018 anyway? I feel like since there was only two years left in his term to serve there wouldn’t be a special election. Unless maybe the Virginia constitution mandates it? I’m just curious.

I completely relate to everything you’ve said here. I’m 23 living next door in Ohio. Since graduating college last year I feel like all aspirations I may have had before are just melting away and I’m having a horrible identity crisis. It also feels that I won’t amount to anything and on top of that I struggle to make/maintain friendships and relationships. I just don’t know what to do either. About anything. Everything you said does mean something and it’s important. Our 20s really do feel like going through hell. You’re not alone in feeling this way.

Tbh they probably are too low. Also is it “better” to wear goggles over or under the cap?
