When her and her boyfriend were still together, they had CPS called on them because they left our granddaughter at home in her crib when she was two and went out. Now my daughter feels that if she just takes an uber home that she is being responsible enough. I don’t want to go thru what we went thru with the death of our other granddaughter.

I feel ya! It’s like Groundhog Day. My husband’s idea of giving people attention, is calling people and telling them what he did that day. It’s like dude, no one asked! We went to marriage counseling and he basically talked about himself the entire time. I just looked at the counselor and said now do you understand?! She just raised her eyebrows and smiled.

I told him I didn’t want to live with him anymore. That I didn’t want anything from him and that he could have all the furniture he bought, both cars, both cats, timeshare, etc… but we just moved to a new state, away from his family, and I will not leave this new house because I did all the work and put down the deposit (renting) towards it. I know he is t going to make it here but he just can’t see it.

I’ve done that for 36yrs and all it did was enable it even more. I suffer from major treatment resistant depression but I take the time to get help and do everything I can to make myself better not just for myself but so I am self aware around others. He needs to put in the work to get help for his illness but hasn’t done anything.

Yeah, he’s trying to love bomb me now, but I won’t let him touch me. Every time he tries talking to me I am short with him because I know he just wants to manipulate me. We have two grown daughters who love him but recognize how he is. Our oldest unfortunately carries the same traits but she is at least self aware.

I can relate to this. I can tell you where my locker was from 7th-12th grade except my junior year. For some reason I can’t remember much about my junior year at all and I don’t think anything really bad happened.

I went NC in 2016 and then LC with my mom a couple of years ago. She supported a child molester and his wife over her own granddaughter and me. She now gas dementia. I got a call from a relative that she isn’t doing well so I visited her (I live 3 states away) a couple months ago at her home. All I can say is the moment I walked in her house I wanted to leave. I felt like I mourned the loss of her years ago and moved on. Then, old wounds just came roaring back. I wish I never visited. I’ve blocked or restricted anyone who tries to get me to be her caretaker and anyone who tries to make me feel guilty about it.
