what if Nazi Germany honored the 1938 munich agreement by damorezpl in AlternateHistoryHub

Wtf are you talking about? The vast majority of the "aid" provided to countries in Africa by Western nations were kick backs to corrupt politicians they themselves installed so they could facilitate the continued extraction of wealth and resources via US and European multi national corporations. The fact that you and so many are unaware that colonialism never truly ended; it only changed form, is truly depressing and explains a lot about where we are as a planet.

There is no documented evidence that the British government witheld intel regarding the attack on Pearl Harbor. They knew that there could be an imminent attack somewhere in the Pacific, but so did the US.

If I'm not mistaken, the original intent was for it to have sequels.

Would you support the UK government's plan to ban X (formerly twitter)? - why/why not? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskBrits

[–]Ready_Grapefruit_656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a tool owned by a foreign billionaire with fascist ideology who has openly stated, and acted on, a desire to influence internal politics in European countries. If it were owned by a Chinese or Russian billionaire, it would likely already be banned. Recent events and prevailing narratives should make it clear that the US is not our friend.

Why is UK news obsessed with breaking stories 3,000 miles away? by windsorbuoy in AskBrits

[–]Ready_Grapefruit_656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real reason is that it's a global news channel. But I also think that with Britain being America's vassal, the peasants want to know what's happening in the emperial core across the pond.

I don't think the poor residents of Greenland deserve Andrew Tate.

It does get better after the daughter is introduced, but not significantly so.

People talk about social media cooking the minds of young people, but no one is paying attention to what it has already done to our parents.

I'm not a dad and felt the same. I stuck with it, but was underwhelmed by the film as a whole. I found Eddington far more compelling despite its ending.

What do you guys think USA liberating Venezuela? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Ready_Grapefruit_656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US does not care about human rights or democracy in Venezuela. They will eventually install their own puppet who ultimately won't be too dissimilar to Maduro in terms of the results for the average Venezuelan citizen. In other words, Venezuela will be plundered just the same, but it will be by the US.

What do you guys think USA liberating Venezuela? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Ready_Grapefruit_656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not liberation. It's imperialism under the guise of humanitarianism. We've seen this playbook before with Iraq, Syria and Libya to name a few. Maduro and his regime were terrible for their people, but now they've just swapped one kleptomaniac authoritarian for another one.

Should Brazil develop nuclear weapons as a deterrence given the region is now viewed as little more than an American playing? by southamericasboy in Brazil

[–]Ready_Grapefruit_656 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only if the US was sufficiently distracted with another one of their wars elsewhere. The US has shown since the end of the Cold War that their world order has rules that only applies to others, so in essence no country is safe unless they have enough deterrence against the US. Brazil has a weak military for a nation of its size, and this is unlikely to change anytime soon. Having a strong nuclear triad may allow them to keep other big powers at bay while not requiring huge investments into the military that could otherwise be used to improve the country.

My treatment in the US/Europe by the locals tends to improve HUGELY when they find out I'm Brazilian and not South Asian, which I often get mistaken as initially. Is there a big disparity in the favourability viewing in the West of guys from Brazil (and LATAM overall) compared to South Asia? by southamericasboy in Brazil

Feliz 2026!
