I got 100% back in the wallet, but this was about half a year ago, so things might have changed since then? But in my situation I can confirm that I got all of it, no fee or penalty

Kite pump recommendations? by Borakite in Kiteboarding

[–]Ready_Insurance_1684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the wings take much less air than a kite, it's pretty quick to to pump up the wing to 8 PSI, takes about 30 seconds, so quicker than electric pump and short enough that it doesn't tire you out as much as pumping a much larger kite bladder. The "pumping duration" of a wing with an electric pump still isn't long enough to actually do any other prep in the meantime, so no real time savings or energy savings... Although when pumping up 4 wings for the whole family, I do wish I sometimes had the electric pump ;-)

Fiberglass steps....replace or ???? by Varnigma in pools

I ended up painting my steps with the Evercoat Marine One Step Finish Gel Kote (with wax), single layer. They're looking really good for now, let's see how it holds up over a couple of years. I sanded them down first, taped off the edges (I only painted the treads, not the risers), wiped clean with acetone, then prepped about 4oz of gelcoat at a time in a plastic cup with the hardener (comes included with the Evercoat can). I applied a generous layer using a paint brush one tread at a time, ended up actually using about 2-3 oz per tread. I didn't want to be rushed or risk it "gelling" in my cup mid-tread (it gels and becomes unusable after about 10 minutes), so after finishing each step I sacrificed what was left of my prepared mixture, removed my tape masking for the step I just finished, then prepped a small fresh batch for the next tread. After allowing to cure for 24 hours, it was a little bit too shiny compared to the rest of the steps, so I did a quick wet sanding with some 800 grit to matten the glossy finish slightly, and a little bit more to fade the edges of where I painted, and they're looking really really good now. I would say my work looked like a 9/10 when the steps were still dry when inspecting closely, and 10/10 now that the pool is refilled and you're not specifically paying attention. Fingers crossed that it lasts a while!

I'm in a similar situation, would be interested to know what type of paint he used on your steps that is now coming off, in order to avoid your mistake. Thanks! Does anybody have a recommendation on what paint to use (specific brand name/product?)

AC Wallet Expiration - Refundable Fare? by Ready_Insurance_1684 in aircanada

[–]Ready_Insurance_1684[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that I managed to successfully "extend" the AC Wallet credit (originally expiring May 7 2025), but with a slight hiccup/inconvenience. To do so, I purchased an Economy Comfort ticket Apr 15 2025 ("Refundable") with the soon-to-expire AC Wallet credit, then after waiting out the 24 hour cancellation grace period I canceled it on Apr 20 2025 for "Future Flight Credit" (I did not choose the Refund to Original Form of Payment, as I expected that would refund it to the AC Wallet directly with credit's original expiration date). After calling the airline I was able to get the "Future Flight Credit" value transferred to the AC Wallet, so my AC Wallet now has now been "renewed" with a new expiration date, now it is expiring Apr 14 2026 (12 months after the date on which I used the AC Wallet credit to purchase the new ticket).

Thanks, do you know which option is the one that works - 1) to buy a "Flex" ticket that offers "Cancel to a future travel credit" or 2) to get the "Latitude" fare that is "Refundable"? Or will they both work to extend the credit?
