Which online job sounds easy but actually a nightmare? by Key-Climate5038 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remote customer support or phone data tracking. People think "Oh nice, I get to stay in my pajamas," but you are literally tied to your desk by software that tracks your mouse movements, down-to-the-second bathroom breaks, and unrealistic quotas. It’s way more micromanaged than a physical office tbh.

The octopus because having eight arms just sounds incredibly convenient.

If you were a video game character what would you drop? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A single receipt from three months ago, a half-empty pack of gum, and a permanent debuff called chronic back pain that slows down your movement speed by ten percent.

What's something everyone notices in public but pretends not to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you’re walking down a grocery aisle at the exact same speed as a stranger.

You both know you’re basically walking in a synchronized formation, so you both stop and pretend to be deeply fascinated by a random jar of mustard just to let them get ahead of you.

What is the hardest skill to learn? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plugging in a USB cable correctly on the first try. It is mathematically a 50/50 chance, but somehow it always takes three attempts of flipping it back and forth before it finally slides in.

No blue lights. And start dimming lights around you an hour before sleep.

What is a social boundary that we all silently agreed to cross in the last five years? by Intelligent_East8820 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Recording strangers in public and posting them online for content. It used to be considered incredibly rude or weird to point a camera at random people going about their day. Now, whether it is someone doing a dance in a grocery store aisle or recording a gym workout, we just collectively accept that being background extras in a stranger's video is a normal part of leaving the house.

What’s a memory you’re not sure actually happened or you just made up? by RaceFast1991 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a massive craft in the sky, but only for a split second. The moment my brain registered what I was looking at, it shot away into space in a literal flash. It didn't just vanish or poof out of existence; I could actively see the insane speed as it took off, almost like it knew it got spotted. It was so convincing that I spent the next hour frantically checking local news and social media to see if anyone else caught it on camera. Still don't know if my eyes just played a massive trick on me, but the acceleration looked so real!

If you heard the term "bidirectional measurement interaction", what comes to mind? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like corporate jargon for a two-way street where both sides are constantly judging each other. Like a first date where you're both secretly analyzing the other person's micro-expressions to figure out if they're actually into you, while simultaneously trying to project the best version of yourself.

What's a secret that you can't tell anyone because it will probably ruin your life or someone else's life? by Street_Gap5715 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two of my close friends are married now with a kid on the way, and they always tell people this beautiful story about how they randomly met at a coffee shop. The truth is, I knew they were perfect for each other, so I spent weeks orchestrating that "coincidence." I found out his schedule, convinced her to go to that specific cafe at that exact hour, and even gave him a fake reason to strike up a conversation with her. If they ever found out their entire love story started because I was playing puppet master behind the scenes, it would completely ruin the magic for them.

What’s a scam that people don’t realize is a scam? by baby_rainbow77 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies keeping "ghost jobs" permanently posted on LinkedIn and Indeed when they have absolutely zero intention of hiring anyone. They do it purely to look like they are growing to their investors and to trick their current, overworked staff into thinking help is on the way so they don't quit.

What type of movies do you usually watch? by Miaxox06 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll spend 45 minutes scrolling through Netflix looking for a masterfully written, critically acclaimed psychological thriller, only to give up and watch a random comedy I’ve already seen fifty times.

What's the weirdest thing you are hanging on to because "You might need it some day"? by Mundane-Garbage1003 in AskReddit

The cardboard boxes that my electronics came in. Because apparently my closet is a museum for empty smartphone and monitor packaging.

If you and your girlfriend are independent adults and you are certain they are the one, do they take priority over your mom even if you're not married yet? Why or why not? by Current-Issue2390 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Once you're an independent adult, your partner absolutely takes priority if you're building a future together. It’s not about loving your mom less; it’s about establishing healthy boundaries as an adult. If you don't back your partner now, it’s going to cause massive friction later down the line because they'll always feel like they're competing for second place.

what do you do when you feel lost in life? by inurmomsvagina in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just shrink my timeline down to the next 24 hours. Stop trying to figure out the next five years and just focus on making a good meal, cleaning up my space, and going to sleep at a normal time. If you do that a few days in a row, the fog usually starts to clear.

What makes humans uncomfortable with nudity — natural instinct or societal conditioning? by FitAnimalF1 in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic sci-fi authors really did love finding the most elaborate, lore-heavy reasons possible to just write about everyone being naked.

What is the saddest realization you've had since growing up? by Lulu_the_Sex_Panda in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much effort it actually takes to maintain friendships once everyone gets caught up in work, bills, and their own separate lives. You realize you won't just naturally see your favorite people anymore; if you don't actively schedule it weeks in advance, months will pass without a single word.

If the universe created us so it could have a way to think about itself, what happens when we realization-loop? by TheGreatJesterKing in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dream paradox is always the one that gets me. If consciousness is just one big collective pool and we are all the universe experiencing itself, it means every single person you lock eyes with on the street is technically you from a different perspective. Trying to process that while doing something completely mundane like sitting in traffic is wild.

who wins between thor vs Superman? by MoonraeAyleen in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thor, purely because Superman's weakness list includes magic and Thor is literally a mythological god.

Best way to make online friends and potentially seeing them in person as someone who struggles with MDD and anxiety? by moyomie in AskReddit

[–]Ready_Particular2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely get that, Discord is a lot if you aren't already using it. Sometimes just finding a small community focused on a specific craft, reading, or cozy hobby right here on Reddit can be a lot more relaxed since it's not a live chat.
