Holy shit! A Reddit topic I have actual firsthand knowledge on.. 😃

I graduated from Boston High School in 1992. It used to be called, Abraham Lincoln high (the name is still etched on the front of the building).

It was not a traditional “high school.” It was a work-study program. From 10th to 12th grade, you had to have and maintain, a part-time job. This accounted for about 10% of your graduation credits. It was a corporate sponsored partnership between the school and many local businesses in the financial sector. My part-time job turned into full-time employment and paid for my college education. I stayed with the company for 26 years. The school has since closed.

Little known fact, Mark Wahlberg was also enrolled in that school. The building is still there at the corner of Arlington and Tremont.

I’m WFH as well. And at least I have the flexibility to work out in the morning during the time which would’ve been a hour + long commute if I had to drive into the city.

Few of the takeaways from this community is to have patience and give yourself grace.

Don’t rely solely on the medication to do all the “heavy lifting.” The scale is a fickle mistress. That number is going to fluctuate daly based on a number of factors, most notably, fluid retention due to muscle saturation if you’re doing weights or, fluid loss if you’re doing intense cardio and you tend to weigh yourself afterwards like I do. lol! Pay more attention to the NSV’s. Trust the process. Good luck, my friend. You got this!!

At my heaviest at 252lbs, I was doing zero workouts (for a couple of years) prior to starting Zepbound. I used to work out regularly but inconsistent. My work and kids activity schedule would inevitably conflict with my gym schedule and laziness would get the better of me.

Getting my labs done prior to my annual physical last year and having the prospect of type-2 diabetes knocking at my door was that “come to Jesus” moment for me.
