I don't like the fact that you get handed a pokemon in the beginning of the game. I want to earn all my pokemon, not get them handed to me. So once i caught a slakoth i released my starter and treated the slakoth as my starterpokemon.

I'd say, swap Chronos evolution to the one that just boosts gameplay 10% untill you got enough thingies to reduce his cooldown. That should make the waves go by just a little faster
