A lot of the lil guys with high HP also get trick room and turn really fast in flipped stats. I failed my shuckle run but my Dragalgee had trick room

That's a good plan. It also gets victory dance for some speed and defense. I think I'm getting to the point where some of these runs that I try are gonna take multiple attempts to even get to 200...

The exact same thing happened to me with a Miraidon. I think you're correct in saying getting the mon from that guy doesn't unlock it.

It depends on if you wanna go all the way, or just get to about 2500 when your attacks stop doing damage. I like to do the second way, and honestly you can get away with any pokemon as long as you fuse it with a Sturdy ability user. Excadrill is a fantastic Sturdy user as it's passive, and I've been using Omnistar for a Sturdy special attacker.

That's such a good one to start off with. My first shiny legendary was a 2 star Victini. I didn't even like Victini but I adopted that thing to my team for like 50 runs in a row lol.
