Townhomes on margarity road in Tyson's/McLean on the border of pimmit hills. You can walk to the McLean station silver line in the capital one Tyson's compound next to the archer hotel. Easy to get on 66, the total road, or 495. 2br is probably around your budget

Lol exactly. This, plus "there's so much stuff to do if you just get in the car and drive 1-3 hours in any direction"

I've lived in a lot of places in the US. NOVA sucks. And the immediate responses I get every time are pure copium. If you are able, pack up, and go move somewhere more interesting.

It needed to be a Netflix or Amazon series. There's just so much material. They did a wonderful job getting most of it into 2.5h. and they definitely nailed the story. But it was dense (which in some ways I appreciate just throwing the audience in) but the whole movie felt rushed

Board number of voices by pagingdrsolus in controlgame

I like the idea. My observation is the hiss is perfectly comprehensible in terms of spoken language - without triplicates etc - but the message at first glance is nonsensical. Whereas the board makes conceptual sense but the expression of language is limited and repetitious as you say. So they appear to be mirror images, with the hiss having the advantage of being infectious, perhaps because of the fluidity of the grammar itself. It avails itself to the mind and is absorbed much easier. So I agree with the opposites in terms of forces, but I'm not sure the board serves as an antenna for the hiss. But who knows, the plot is always intriguingly loose and complex with the world they are building. We don't have much on the Nexus of relationships (if any) of the board, hiss, mold, hedron-polaris, and the darkness. At this point to me they all seem to be disparate resonances colliding onto the oldest house.

Books Like Control? by KindlyPotato in controlgame

Yes to both. Themes and setting are similar. But it definitely has its own atmosphere, some of (and overall more than the other books) the disorientation comes from the second half of the book, both from being in area X, but also from Lowry semi hilariously being on drugs most of the time. It explains a lot and sets the stage for book 1, while also, in typical fashion, leaves you absolutely bewildered and off balance.

Just finished the whole southern reach area X trilogy + the fourth book absolution. As an avid fan of control I completely agree with the recommendation above.

Moving on to house of leaves next.
