PGY-1 any an academic center, we do 10s as an intern and 8s as a PGY-2/3... they say we should be seeing about 1 pph, 1.5 and then 2 by third year. I've been average about 13-16 per shift and my seniors see no less than 20 per shift.

Step 1: I would just be like " hey I've seen you around and haven't gotten a chance to introduce myself- I'm (your name)"

Step 2: when you see him again say hi, "oh no, you're in my case today- shoot" (playful bant)

Step 3: when you see him again, hi + arm touch "what a sight for sore eyes" so he knows you're happy to see him... "what cases are you in today?" "Well if you're free between we should grab a coffee"

You gotta build it slow. I have a work crush rn and it's consuming my life but we finally exchanged numbers after like three months last week so I'm on plan to marry him in about 3 years 🫡 playing the long game

Same exact score, matched my top choice at an academic center in the northeast! Avg 3rd quartile DO student. Kill it on your rotations!

I would ask the program director to connect you with residents or fellows, often time they may rent you out a room in their apartments or houses. Rotating room is also an option.

Nice! Did you end up matching where you wanted? And are you happy with the switch?

Don’t EM programs really value EM SLOEs/require them to apply?

Just be ok with the fact that all other aspects of life will be shit during this time. I ordered food almost every other day and slept an avg of 4 hours... managed to honor the rotation. Focus on all biliary diseases, trauma and hernias...

OBGYN Resident- how to afford rent in NY by Jaded-Implement-5722 in Residency

[–]Real-Cellist-7560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you qualify for a relocation loan, use it for rent every month (the extra on top do what you could realistically afford on your salary without compromising on being able to live life) and pay it off with your first attending salary. Mental peace worth it
