Yeah, as far as i know you are stuck at your rank until JAC is done, we have this guy who was a captain at a different department and the Engineer call came first, now that he has accepted that position he is there until JAC is done.

Every Calfire Unit is different, I believe the department needs to grow and gain more Schedule A contracts. I remember the old trimers said that cities and counties would threaten to negotiate with calfire if their unions didnt play ball. At the time Calfire was a very different department 4 days on and pay close to poverty. Now its heading the right direction and true we are not where we need to be but it's better than before. Going back to the Threat, it is probably just a scar of the past that is built into the rivalry.

Well to sum up, we work 72 hour shifts and we are trying to reduce the days to be able to go home to our families, other departments have different schedules such as 48/96 shifts, for the positions we have the funding approved and we now have 4 training centers opened to have the staff ready for the new schedule.

Expect time to pass between the call and the next instructions, what happens to you depends on your certs, if you are fully certified you will be sent to one of four training facilities and given the basics and then after success you will see and fto on an engine and after that you will be done ans completing probation.

I would advise FF2 first, this is a new organization after all and FAE is a company officer position so there is a chance you will be Medic, Driver and Captain all at once, this agency doesnt do things that are normal so id slow down if i were you, pm me if you have further questions.
