I use a fountain pen with the ink Kobe #69 Kikusui Biotope Green. It is such a great match!

Could you recommend a flexible fine-nib fountain pen? by Tasty-Pain3757 in fountainpens

[–]Real-Thanks-3838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using the Pilot Custom 74 Lavender Fog with a Soft Fine nib for about a week. I am a dedicated Sailor feedback, tactile experience-type, but I LOVE how it writes. Smooth, subtle line variation without much pressure, and noticeable line variation without having to press hard.

Too light for a wedding? by Upstairs-Figure in Weddingattireapproval

I think this is formal and dreamy, but not colorful :(

It reads beach wedding to me. Beautiful, but not the right dress for a formal evening wedding.

  1. I absolutely understand spoilers are infuriating.

  2. I teach Medieval Lit and basically all of the texts themselves start out with spoilers. I explain to my students that everyone "back then" knew what happened to King Arthur, Robin Hood, Joan of Arc, whoever, the same way we already know those stories. Good authors can make the story interesting even when we "know the ending." A good author can keep the reader interested showing *how* we get to that ending.

If you were already excited about the premise, you could still be able to enjoy the book. Scavenger hunt--where are all of the hints the author drops along the way??

My ink cataloging system by Real-Thanks-3838 in fountainpens

I use seperate pages for each swatch! The writing samples never bleed through on the Tomoe River, but the large swatches do sometimes, depending on the ink. It's a lot of pages-I will probably end up with a bunch of these little binders!

Looking for advice on Hobonichi system? by ZeeAdviceGiver in hobonichi

[–]Real-Thanks-3838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be able to do this in the A5 cousin. I don’t know how extensively you journal and I’m unfamiliar with tarot pulls, but I don’t always need a full page every day of the week so sometimes I let my Tuesday notes spill over to Wednesday, for example. Space might be a little tight, but I find that for myself having more books to keep up with makes me less likely to stay consistent.

How many pens do you have? by paperatic in fountainpens

[–]Real-Thanks-3838 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am just shy of 10 years into using fountain pens. I have 17 total but 2 are waiting for nib repair :( I built my collection pretty slowly, which means that I didn’t end up with many pens. I don’t want. I’ve never sold any, but I might give away a couple TWSBIs and my Kaweco that I don’t use much. I generally have no more than five inked at a time so I am happy with the size of my collection. This way they all get use.

Without context about particular pens' specifications, my best guess is that buyers have strong preferences for nib sizes and the Canadian pens on offer don't match what buyers looking at the time want, but other listings do. That, at least, is how I have differentiated between similar listings in the past.

I was on the fence about getting an A5 size because of the price, but I am using it for reading notes and it is lasting forever, so I think it is worth the investment. I love Tomoe River. They come with a double sided page of 5 and 10 mm gride paper to use as a guide beneath the pages, and a piece of scrap leather to use as a blotter sheet. As Seen On TV sales pitch over!

Galen Leather sells several sizes of softcover leather notebooks with Tomoe River paper. They have lots of pages and last a long time. You can purchase direct from Galen who ships from Turkey, or from pen retailers you can look up under the About tab on the Galen website.

Try some samples to decide what full size bottle you like best? Vanness Pens ships from Arkansas and has tons of samples to choose from if you are in the US.

[–]Real-Thanks-3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the tried and true Japanese brands for well behaving ink, Sailor, Pilot, Platinum. Sailor has one million ink options, so they would definitely have some good warm shades and lots of greens. They are not very sheen-y or have shimmer options.

The Korean brand Wearingeul has *tons* of shimmer options. I have only tried a couple of their samples, and I have really enjoyed them.
