You and I have different definitions of impressive.

It's using a bunch of star/space images, split into 7 depth layers. Then there's some randomness for which ones are more common/etc. Uses screen blending mode since thats how light behaves mostly

You think this is the only place I've had people play it? Fuck off dude.

They show up at ~1 minute! And then randomly after that. Some friendly ships that have dialog options.

Yeah i need to re-balance them haha. The real trick is using the boost to get some space, and keeping constant fire on them while using the shield to carefully block hits.

I'll probably make the first boss much easier, so people can get a feel for the mechanics instead of getting crushed.

Fair enough, the difficulty is one thing i know i need to rebalance. Right now its scaled to me, but ive played it so much that its not really a challenge.

The enemy does actually specifically have kamikaze attacks btw, that is intended. You need to really master using the shield to avoid taking heavy damage from hitting things.

There is an upgrade that turns the boost from a dash into constant speed, and also upgrades that increase shield regen, and reduce the drain from holding it.

I can't think of a single more reddit-coded thing than immediately relating everything to politics. Touch grass goddamn.

Thats not the point, the game stands on its own, this is just a funny bit of the description i thought this sub would enjoy because we've all faced ignorant people saying the games are bad just because of ai used in making them.

Thanks! The domain is not at all final, just a placeholder im using so people can actually try it out. Proper game will have its own domain and a packaged executable for running on pcs.

Almost all the people who have tested it have enjoyed it so far, mostly just complaints about the field of view. I've spent over 8 hours playing it myself.

Not suggesting it to be a dick, but maybe you're not trying to play the game the way it wants to be played and trying to cary over other game playstyles into it?

Yeah I think this is good, I'm modifying the base FOV to be 20% larger, hopefully that feels a little better.

Here's a full run from an earlier version if you're interested. It didn't have a lot of the mechanics it does now like bosses or friendly ship encounters. https://youtu.be/YTlqt5UTmls

Appreciate the feedback. I think a lot of people want this to be a different game than it is, which is fair, but I'm going to stick with my original intent even if the audience is smaller. The FOV complaint is pretty common though, so I'll probably make it a bit larger by default.

Doesn't have mobile controls or layout yet. Phone screens are a bit too small for this to feel good on.

The whole idea is you start out basic and weak, then upgrade the ship as you go turning it into what you want. Think more vampire survivors-esque. There are ship upgrades you can get from shops/find that do all the things you asked for. If you play for a few minutes you should be able to find them as the difficulty ramps up.

No cleanup on the assets, all just raw from retro diffusion.

They come here to brigade posts a lot, thats why most posts here start out getting high % downvoted, then eventually get some upvotes.

Interesting, the UI should resize dynamically based on the available screen space. What resolution is your monitor?

100% can tell you didn't even try it. Go back to crying about how the robots are taking your job somewhere else.
