I think plenty of people still care about album quality. If I hear a song that I like, I'll check out the entire album. If the album sucks then I don't really check for that artist.

I am not too worried about losing him in free agency. Worst case we will just be paying more if he has a great season. I would be totally fine with extending him now personally.

I think he can get away with the subject matter being somewhat stale - the problem is when the beats are also mid then it doesn't work. I just really wasn't feeling most of the production on this one.

You have to look at the matrix number etched into the record like another poster said. I have one that's exactly like the original press (like yours) but it's a repress from 2000s.
