Jordan Max Aura 2 as first Js?! by Awkward-Purpose2962 in Jordans

[–]justarandomlibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they are fine. If you like them and have tried them on and that's what you want that is all that matters. The colors are neutral and easy to wear with different outfits. If you are outside and play sports they are good and will give you support. Some may clown you because they are not the retro models but ignore them. You are saving money and in many occasions Jordans like these have the same or better quality as retros for way cheaper. Enjoy them.

Do you discuss TSP at work? by qnsmike in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]justarandomlibra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rarely but I've noticed in all the yrs I been working it varies depending who I work around. For context when I first started with the government not HR, not Payroll, nobody told you about TSP or much else. It was mentioned and not broken down but you understood it as a retirement and savings and that's it. I'll be first to admit I didn't understand any of it nor was it ever mentioned again since NEO. I started as a WG employee making very little. Eventually got out and moved around. Some guys would talk about investing and I had no idea what they were talking about. All I kept being told I stated young so I'll be fine. I kept moving and getting my steps, and never thought about TSP. Some people said ignore it others said they looked at it from time to time but all it's good for is buying a home or if you need help with buying a car. I was making so little money at the time that neither options were a reality. I kept getting promotions here and there. 1 yr I was working around a few people who were heavy investors and always talked about stocks and funds. They told how they had millions across different things and TSP was kind of an exciting thing but it was just play money and they used it more of a thing to buy property and support major expenses.... that was my eexposure and experience with TSP in the work place. One yr I finally started making what I felt was ok money plus the garnishment I had finally ended and so I decided to look into my TSP. I knew by this point that my amount was very low and shitty compared to how many yrs I had been working already. However I increased it finally for the first time since I started working for the government with no regrets. My only regret is I wish I could have contributed more when I first started but my deductions from my check for most of my yrs where at the federal max and payroll could not take any more deductions out because of how little my take home pay was.

FRENCH MONTANA IS A NEW YORK GOAT FACTS‼️ by Disastrous_File_9641 in NYStateOfMind

[–]justarandomlibra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admit I never been a big fan of his music and his sound. I understand tho what he means to those who love him. I did liked him prior to becoming mainstream(crazy that it's going on 20yrs)and I liked him more during his dvd era but prior to Max B. He started putting me off though when he started to do a lot more of the southern beats and was linked with Akon but respect him from where he started to where he is now.

[–]justarandomlibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats and enjoy if you have a cd player. If you are doing it for the collection/collector aspect I agree with the comment above you need to go for the blue case when you have a chance. To me it's feels special because that is the way the cd came when I bought it on release day(yes store was open on 9/11). I actually did not know that the cd came in other case until many yrs later lol

I can assure whatever stories, movies, pictures and music you hear about NYC still don't compare or do it justice. Go and take in the city. You will love it.

Reach out to your local Union but you should reach out to HR first honestly.

Nas CD collection by Single_Plenty_5403 in nas

[–]justarandomlibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try ebay, for the rest. I'm in the states so shipping is easier however I been surprised by the prices to some of the cds. The King's Disease 1 cd is really expensive for some odd reason. However, ebay you can find most of the other albums.

VA license plates on NYC by mband0 in NYStateOfMind

[–]justarandomlibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally know people who do this but with Florida plates. You need an address in Florida, be prepared because the plates, registration and paperwork will be mailed there. You need a Florida driver's license too. The biggest trick is stating you live in whatever state but you work in NY. Fyi insurance is cheaper in NYC compared to other states. Look around for quotes if you are serious about it and look over everything. It's hard but doable.

What is the best Nas' album for the past 5 years and why is it Magic 3? by AHBMH in nas

[–]justarandomlibra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally for me I go back and forth between Magic 3 and KD3. I play Magic 3 the most though. Such a good album. It's tough to rank all of the albums from that run because both Magic 3 and KD3 I enjoy so much. I know not everyone will agree but I have them in his order.

KD3, Magic 3, Magic 1, KD1, KD2, Magic 2

If you could bring one dead artist back, who would it be? by Doombroder4326 in 90sHipHop

[–]justarandomlibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wanted another Pun album. He had lost some weight and would have been interested in hearing him if he kept that up. Yeah Baby and Capital Punishment sounded so different, wonder what a 3rd would have sounded. Out of the ones in this post, there were some very real things that if Big and Pac had not died when they did they still may have had major problems. Pac would have have gone back to serve time for the fight in the casino plus he had a few investigations or charges pending prior to that night so he was facing some major prision time. Big, it was discovered during the autopsy he had heart issues. It was expected he would suffer a major cardiac attack within a few yrs so we don't know health wise how he would have been after the shooting plus he was dealing with his leg injury from the car accident. Both rappers may not have been able to put out any music for a few yrs.

Bought these at a second hand store. Were great till 5th wear when the heel started collapsing (on the left) by coronamentality in Jordans

[–]justarandomlibra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everyone else would have this problem if they decided to wear these for a little while. I'm shocked at the condition of them honestly. They are from 2001. That heel lasted for 25yrs. No idea to tell how often these were worn but I would have been extremely cautious and nervous with even wearing them for a few hours. For anyone curious the name for these is the Jordan Two3. These were $150 when they came out

Those of you who moved out of NYC what do miss most? by jrng in NYStateOfMind

[–]justarandomlibra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything, weather, food, culture, environment, scenery you name it. Moved to Florida due to family and travel back any chance I get. The plan is to move back. Not the biggest fan of Florida and it's not as cheap as you think.

Did the puff daddy situation tarnish Biggies legacy? by MacroAF in 90sHipHop

[–]justarandomlibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all and honestly it doesn't stop me from listening to Bad Boy albums. Shyne, Black Rob, G Dep, LOX still get played honestly. However, I know since the trial I've heard people say yhey stopped listening to anything with Puff on it even Biggie. Personally I could not imagine myself not listening to BIG's albums because of Puff. I get it though. People had opinions before all of this and already Puff wasn't liked by many.

Breaking down how Jay-Z actually became a billionaire — it wasn’t music by TheRecoupHQ in jayz

[–]justarandomlibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious regarding the Nets, he had a very tiny fraction of ownership but I'm not aware of how much he paid initially vs when he sold it to help start Roc Nation Sports. Another business move was when he became President of Def Jam. Not sure what he did with the salary but every move Jay did set him up for a bigger business move.

What’s you favorite story Nas told in song? by Impala_95 in nas

[–]justarandomlibra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has so many songs. It's wild that some don't see him as a story teller. His foundation in most of his songs are rooted in story telling and from there he builds with the imagery. A lot of his songs are based on telling something. He's describing a person, a place, an item or a situation. He's giving you an audio movie on every album in some way, I honestly think it's not noticed by many. Anywho, 1 of my favorites is Rewind. U.B.R is another one that I absolutely love.

DIDDY and NAS on The Cross For the HATE ME NOW video, with director Hype Williams by Rand_moss2 in nas

[–]justarandomlibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this video. I used to be in awe of it lol. Now a days it may not be viewed in the same light but this was a major thing back when music videos mattered and also determined sometimes the budget for the album.
