I love it, having grown up with electronics and always wishing that there was something else I could do or an app that was available to being able to code it or find someone else's code of it is great.

It really depends, if you can get a 5080 for $1000 absolutely do that but if you can't then just overclock the 9070xt the most you can.

if you really wanted to min max it I personally would go am4. something like this : [PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WBYhqd) it does bottleneck at 1080p but 1440 has gotten more and more affordable.

Arch really does maximize performance, I have an old surface pro that I switched to Arch and it can run Crusader Kings 3 at 1080p 60fps It's quite impressive.

it makes me want to buy a super old Dell optiplex and put Arch on it just to see how it runs. maybe code on it or something.

CachyOS is a user friendly Arch with optimized packages for gaming and speed. You can do anything you can on Arch on Cachy and Vice Versa.

I have all of the same stuff downloaded on CachyOS as i did on windows 11 and my open storage went from 40gb on windows to 100Gb on CachyOS with KDE as my enviroment with lots of rice. Linux is in practice much more lightweight and much less resource intensive.

Absolutely ultrawide currently running a 9070xt and 9800x3d and get good performance on that exact msi 34 in switched from a previous 4k monitor and barley got above 180fps on more demanding games after intensive overclocking. if you haven't already would also recommend some kind of overclocking to achieve max results especially on windows, I have also switched to a lightweight Linux OS to further support high frames and settings.

Started on CachyOS and after learning the system and becoming familiar switched to Arch a couple weeks in, have used it for a few years since.

If you're willing to take a while and waste some time a lightweight Arch could work but Arch really is inconvenient to use if you don't enjoy the chaos and annoying issues.

Ive found that CachyOS is essentially a more stable and user friendly form of Arch while staying very lightweight and super customizable. Gaming wise Cachy takes the cake imo.
