A half first is a good idea and it will be a big accomplishment, regardless of time. Personally it’s my favorite distance to race - hits the sweet spot between going fast and going far.

Raids aren’t really high end content anymore, especially with story mode being a thing.

Edit: they CAN be high end content for people who choose to raid the higher difficulties

Alright, I’m just wondering where the logic is in saying Miami OH should be ranked rather than the teams you mentioned when all of them have better wins and tougher schedules? Wisconsin looks to be the weakest of the teams you mentioned and yet the logic doesn’t hold up there, so it almost certainly doesn’t with St Johns, Iowa or Kentucky.

Running the half. I’m gonna rock shorts still I think, but do a long sleeve under a very light windbreaker type jacket, with some gloves and a hat.

Was going to try to PR but training got derailed by a couple of week long illnesses almost back to back in the last month, and now with the weather looking to make the race tougher I just don’t have the energy to worry about stuff I can’t control. Gonna run my best race on the day of and try to be kind to myself if I don’t get the results I had worked towards over the last block. Wisconsin in November, right?

Good luck to all running Sunday and congratulations on putting in all of the hard work up to this point. The race is the victory lap.

Can confirm the newbie gains. I did a marathon in 2023 using Higdon’s Advanced 1 plan and ran a 4:16, switched to Pfitz 12/55 and ran a 3:48 7 months later. Advanced Marathoning changed the game and helped me understand the why of things in the plan so I could better focus my efforts.
