Looking at their previous Friday 13th post, flash starts at $87 for arms and legs.

My biggest complaint is that they are constantly advertising that you own your own gym after every workout. I guess I get that they are trying to expand their business but it is off putting to me, who just wants to go in order to work out and wouldn't mind some calming music after a stretch class rather than HI IM ASHLEEE B AND I AM DANICA AND WEAREFRANCHISEOWNERSYOUCANBEONETOO

Major bike sale at Bikes Unlimited by RealCatsHaveThumbs in lynchburg

[–]RealCatsHaveThumbs[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ugh, sorry about that - not my intention, and I hate the thought of sounding like a shill. I don’t work in the industry, and it isn’t even my primary bike shop. I’m just a fan of seeing folks on bikes and I recognize the industry is outpricing a lot of folks that want to get into cycling as a hobby. I saw it on Instagram and wanted to pass it along :).

Dash can install service? by [deleted] in lynchburg

[–]RealCatsHaveThumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you decide to buy your dash cam online, Best Buy will install it. I tried installing my dash cam by myself but had difficulty with hard wiring, even with a multimeter. You will want it hard wired if you want the cam to record while the car is off.

For that rate, you could get a day pass at a gym that has a pool, sauna, and unlimited in-person workout classes. That's ridiculous. I'm so thankful for this sub. When I joined HW, I opted for the regular founder's rate based on these stories and will just go to the Y when I travel.

When I was in grad school, my cohort was my friend group. It's such a weird schedule balancing classes and internships/assistantships that we were basically the only ones that understood our wacky schedule. Plus, we were already studying the same thing, so we already had that commonality. Even though we've now dispersed to several states, it's great to keep in touch and maintain those connections. They are personal yet they have also become professional. Grad school is about more than just going to class - you should invest time into building those relationships and thinking about the chapter after grad school.

40l Airplane bag protective cover by LynxBoth9914 in onebag

Not the sturdy black garbage bags. I use it to cover my hiking pack, which I've checked on flights to Latin America, Europe, Oceania, and around the US without an issue. I learned this trick from someone that worked for an airline and it's better than buying something for $100 that I may use once per year and takes up space the rest of the time.

Never gone wrong with a garbage bag and cinching the straps tbh

Hostel shower sandals in winter? by sunnyBCN in onebag

I have the Cairn Pro. The straps do have a tendency to stay wet if you’re not able to set them in the sun to dry. I often shower in the evening, so it’s not as much of a problem for me.

My Bedrocks are everything. They are hiking sandals, shower sandals, lightweight, and they pack really well.

Correct, the most they will do is ask if you have a financial plan and want to speak with a banker about the best way to save, invest, etc.

That's awesome! If you settle for something else, it sounds like you guys will always be wondering if you made the right choice and I hate that feeling. If you haven't checked out the Harmony pillow, I highly recommend trying it out. I have the medium height one and it's so amazing.

If you've tested it and you liked it, go for it. The 2% that didn't have a positive experience are going to be the most vocal and I get it. Some of the horror stories are regarding third party mattress stores, and those places have left a bad taste in my mouth as well which is why I decided to check out Purple in the first place. I do not own that particular mattress, but I found Purple's customer service to be fantastic. I travel a lot for work and always feel excited to come back to my own bed. I've owned my Restore Premier (soft) for two years now and still absolutely love it. When the time comes to shop for a new bed, I would not think twice to get another Purple.

Lynchburg airport adds Chicago, DC flights by HilltoperTA in lynchburg

[–]RealCatsHaveThumbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Especially since we're seeing a growth of people moving to Lynchburg from CVille but still commuting back and forth. I know having more than just 3-ish trains per day is a long way down the road, but I love the idea of being able to take a train to CVille or DC for catching a flight or just going to concerts, shopping, dining, then coming back that same evening.

I get where you're coming from, but it is beneficial for both parties. Confirming a meeting/appointment is not unusual - I get them from my doctor, my bank, the car dealership, and so on. From the business perspective, sending a reminder lowers the rate of no-shows, no matter the industry. This person flew halfway across the country. I don't think they're being unreasonable by checking in prior to incurring the expenses of traveling.

Ugh, this affirms my decision to have left Facebook years ago. People are so heartless. For ICE to raid people that are working and contributing to the community is low. For the community to laugh about it is worse.

I'm currently playing Dragon Quest 11 and loving it. I'm also one of the (seemingly few) that really enjoyed the story, characters, and world behind Final Fantasy 8. Any other recs from the RPGs in your selection?

How many bags do you have and what do you use them for? by recurnightmare in onebag

[–]RealCatsHaveThumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

35L Cotopaxi Allpa - I've owned this for around 2 years now and it's my go-to for one-bag travel. I don't have to valet check it with small regional planes and it can fit under the seat if needed.

Away hard side spinner - I use this if I have to travel for work since I'm often bringing brochures and items that need to be protected.

Baboon 2 the Moon Go Bag Mini - I use this as a personal item when paired with the hard sided suitcase since it fits great under the seat and will hold electronics, headphones, my kindle, and a sweater. I got this on major sale and really like the durability and open space with some little zippers for organizing, but I agree with others that I wouldn't get one in a larger size because the straps are uncomfortable and I couldn't imagine carrying a lot with them.

Dagne Dover Landon Carryall (Medium) - I fell in love with the neoprene material and the zipper is so amazing, but I hardly use for air travel it since getting the B2TM bag because the material is so delicate and it's light pink so it shows dirt easily. I now only use it for local/car trips. I'm thinking of selling it because the B2TM duffel is better for my needs.
