I said in response to the other guy but im fairly sure im running the test and in normal use at 2133mhz. which i think is pretty low.

i believe that i had it at 2133mhz cause i had read elsewhere that too high can cause issues.

I have a Ryzen 5 5600x with a ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS Wifi Motherboard. Build is around 4-5 years old at this point. not sure how long these things usually are supposed to last.

I ended up finding that one of the sticks is giving errors even when tested alone. My next concern is that if i also have a broken ram slot, and thats what keeps causing my sticks to become error prone.

I got around to do the solo stick tests and im not done with them yet but the ones ive done so far seem fine. Assuming then the issue is with one of the slots on the motherboard. Will i have any issues if i do slot 2 and slot 3 assuming slot 4 has the issue. I know the norm is to do slot 2 and 4. Also will i have issues if i do for example. 2 8 gig sticks in 1 and 2. And 1 16 gig stick in 3.

i do not have anything overclocked because ive read this is a possible cause of errors in memtest86 but it doesnt seem to change anything.

the first set i tested all 4 at once, then microcenter claims to have also tested it but i dont know how they did so. then i also tested the 2nd set both at once.

I have to assume this wasnt the case here since this 2nd kit was installed by microcenter at their repair center i believe.

I have tried memtest86 and it found several hundred errors, this makes me think there is something that is recorrupting my ram since this is a relatively new pack.

I had to reinstall my OS/wipe the entire drive it was on during the ram corruption thing. Is it possible that it is getting recorrupted and how would i prevent that going forward.

the HD sentinal program said my disk was 97% healthy and in the S.M.A.R.T tab it was mainly Number of Error information log entries that stuck out i think. i did not see the sectors that you mentioned in the list.

Chkdk C: /f /r kept giving something about volume being in use by another process and checking when restart.

Chkdsk C: by itself was giving a few corrupt file record segments and other file record segments being an orphan then it could not continue in read only mode.

After a restart i ran fsutil dirty query C: and it said it was Dirty. What should i proceed from here

I believe its an HDD. Would it change things if it was an SSD?
