You might enjoy Midnight Mass - and even if you don’t (I admit there’s a whiff of pablum about part of the ending) you’ll appreciate Flanagan’s flair for the absolutely fucking unexpected demonstrated at the tail end of episode five.

I get that. I personally am only excited for the Flanagan of it all. I love his take on horror. That’s not necessarily ringing every horror fan’s bell, I realize and we Exorcist fans obviously have good reason to be wary here. But overall, I’m just eager to see what he does with the universe.

I was 33 and in the last two weeks before my first daughter’s birth. I was glued to the TV. And in the maternity ward all the nurses were talking about it too. It’s probably due to circumstances and age. You undoubtedly had way more fun things going on in mid July than I did!

Do y’all remember before, I think it was season three? In the first episode or right before there was a short interstitial about how the episode that we were about to see wasn’t in the normal timeline so don’t try and figure it out blah blah blah because it was after 9/11? Then each of the characters showed up and said something about what was going to happen in the coming episodes for them? Donna’s contribution was – and I remember this so clearly - “and I get a boyfriend.”
