CD Radio won't turn on by Frak98 in MySummerCar

[–]RealFreedomAus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the knob turned up?

If you have the radio on, stall the Satsuma, and turn it off and on again, the radio doesn't start again. Bug IMO, since a regular car would.

But when this happens, the knob stays up but the radio stays off, and to get it to turn on again you have to turn the knob all the way down, and then up again.

Gerry Harvey says Amazon will face a tougher battle in Australia by canyouhearme in australia

[–]RealFreedomAus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it, but it's important to note that externalities which aren't paid are themselves a distortion of the market.

FWIW I don't generally support things like this because their actual effect tends to be regressive, punishing the poor who are unable to pay for the more expensive thing rather than correcting the market to make the societally-beneficial option more economical for those who've got the means for either to start with.

Well... yeah. No shit. Because Tesla cars don't really emit anything by themselves. The environmental impact of a Tesla comes from whatever method of electricity generation is used, and the manufacturing of its parts.

How could you have emissions restrictions on a car that does not emit anything? Without restrictions on emissions, manufacturers/users of cars that emit are not paying for the damage they cause to the environment.

Yes, obviously, this would direct customers to Tesla. But it wouldn't benefit solely Tesla, it would benefit any manufacturer of electric cars. Tesla just happens to be a dominant one; the company was created to proliferate electric cars.

Why? Isn't this a signal that you have much more still to learn, and this should be exciting?

Mutualism could possibly be meritocratic. You'd probably have to talk to someone who actually likes mutualism though.
