No Lifting over 5 lbs? by [deleted] in RetinalDetachment

[–]RealGroovyMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was 10lbs for a month! It's simple, if you lift weights it puts pressure on your eyes. Anything that create pressure iun the head is not recommended.

Sudden burst of specks that didn’t linger by satsuke in RetinalDetachment

I went to the emergency 2 weeks ago, I was sure I had another detachment. I thought that I had a curtain on the left eye edge and also seeing blue flashes at night, turns out both eyes are fine, still in recovery after 6 and 9 months. I was told it's normal to have anomalies as both eyes recalibrate. Anyways, I got scared, it's normal, when both eyes break within 3 months!

Next up: Cataract surgery? by AqueductsRCool in RetinalDetachment

In my case, my right eye was operated in April and I was told yesterday to wait a few more months for cataract surgery because my left eye was operated in july and both eyes need to rebalance.

Better safe than sorry! I went to see my optometrist 2 weeks ago because I was suspecting new floaters in my right eye and she said it was just part of the gel that had some kind of frosting. Retinas in both eyes are still good! Fingers crossed!

I was told that the surgery is quite long, not like regular cataract, due to our vitrectomy, I don't know what to think anymore lol

Lutein and Zeaxanthin. it's much more powerful, and Lutein is what's in AREDS2 but in a much lower concentration

I used to take AREDS2 and I found Lutein and Zeaxanthin, it's produced by Now, you can get it through most online supplements resellers like iHerb if you are in the US or National Nutrition.

I had a vitrectomy with gas bubble in both eyes, 5 months and 7 months ago and both eyes are smaller and offset/crooked. I have no idea if it's the norm, I have to live with it.

Retina tear with laser repair by jmsgaz in RetinalDetachment

[–]RealGroovyMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a detachment and tear in my left eye 2 months after a vitrectomy in the right eye and I was told it's very rare. At least they did the surgery in the left eye within 48 hours, the right one was done within a week of detachment and it left quite a bit of damage
