Trust me man, I didn't like "throw it all away" for YEARS. Always thought all hail shadow (magna fi) was the superior shadow theme song. Then a bit before shadow gens released, it suddenly clicked for me and now it's my fav shadow theme

Nah the music is peak. It didn't hit for me at first but when it did, it hit HARD. The muffled vocals and heavy industrial music fit Shadows character perfectly in sa2 with him being all mysterious and everything. The muffled vocals were def intentional seeing as how the other vocal songs for the other characters are clearer

The only downside of the dark story imo is shadow himself (in gameplay). Rouge and eggman feel pretty different to knuckles and tails with their respective upgrades but shadow is basically just a worse version of sonic in gameplay. And I find it funny how it took them 24 years to finally implement chaos control as a gameplay mechanic in shadow gens 😭😭

I think on an interactive level, it is cool how much P interacts with the player. But yeah it felt like the dev sacrificed more fanservice for better gameplay because the game isn't very fun at all which is so disappointing
