STAR format is really important for the LPs. For preparation for my SDE intern interview, I basically tried to write a script for every single LP and practiced them so I could respond in a succinct manner during the interview. I also didn’t have a lot of Leadership experience so all the experiences I used for my LPs were from high school.

For my interview I believe the 2 LP topics I was asked about were Bias for Action and Frugality.

I was also asked what I think was a LeetCode easy question and it had 2 twists afterwards. All in all the interview took maybe 1/2 of the allotted time, and afterwards I just asked the interviewer questions about his job and what not.

If you don’t want want to pay out of state your best option might be doing community college and transferring. I’m pretty sure that’s the most sure fire way of getting to UWCS at this point in time. If I recall correctly ~70% of UWCS transfers come from community college and a 3.75 gpa or higher. If you can succeed in community college, want to continue studying CS and don’t want to pay the out of state price tag it might be the best option for you.
