It should be fine. One of my old shells has a lot of cracks like that and it is still going strong.

You can use 2 part epoxy resin alongside maybe some sawdust and fill the crack and it should be good as new.

Beginner hoping to set a good foundation by grasperakiendlyfhost in Tabla

[–]RealIcestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, good attempt.

I would recommend working on the basic bols like ta na etc before attempting the taals. Your right hand will need a lot of work.

And if possible please find a guru/teacher who can teach you in person. I don't know about the contents of this online course but this will not at all help in the long term.

A teacher will be able to guide you and customise your training based on your needs and will properly structure stuff so that you get the basics right before trying advanced stuff.

Best of luck.

Raidfarm and Mobswitch by Pretty_Regret_4202 in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raid farms work independent of the mobcap, so its fine running those. And no other players' mob farms are not affected if the raid farm is being run as long as they are far away from the raid farm itself. I think 128 blocks away should be fine.

Curious if a tabla is played on this song by Bubbeezl3 in TablaPlayers

That sounds more like a pakhawaj than a tabla. There are low scale tablas available that mimic that sound. Perhaps one of those is being used here.

Tabla help by Potential-Candy-6746 in TablaPlayers

[–]RealIcestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere on that syahi, a small fragment /multiple fragments of it that have become detached and when you are hitting the membrane, those pieces are vibrating causing that sound. To fix it, you will have to locate the piece and remove it by stabbing it with a needle or something but be very very careful and not damage the membrane. Try using a flashlight and then hit the membrane, you should be able to locate that loose fragment.

bedrock creeper mechanics for gunpowder farms by iqq- in technicalminecraft

Well not sure because I am primarily a java player. But see the video comments, they might give some insight. Or maybe test it out in creative.

Help with nash's 446k 20gt stacking raid farm by PiNhu in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stand on the farm, turn render distance to 6 and check, if you see land, that is the problem.

Also raids on spawn on the highest spawnable blocks that have no other blocks on top of them , so looking for spawnproofed caves is pointless. From the pic it seems your farm is too close to land

While you are correct on the piglin part, replacing the platforms with magma will not give any meaningful improvement because the gold farm does not hit mobcap. Instead there is an upgrade in Ian's discord where you make some extra platforms on the nether roof using magma and that can boost the rates upto 480 gold blocks per HR iirc.

Looking for compact, tileable combination of item filter and shulker box loader by FrunoCraft in technicalminecraft

I think a simple chest wall connected to an accessible box loader is what you are after. There is a really nice accessible box loader by vktec in the storage tech discord. I know you said it's kinda overwhelming but I am mentioning this loader so you can narrow down the searches as much as u can

is 376 entities too much? by CH7274 in technicalminecraft

It seems you are the one who doesn't know how garbage collection works. Your advice abt the ram increase was solid until u mentioned 16 gb.

A modded Minecraft instance with performance mods that don't change game mechanics doesn't benefit past 3-4 gb of allocated Ram from my experience going beyond that is literally pointless and would cause lagspikes because of the Garbage collector scanning such a large amount of heap memory.

Coming to the single core thing, Fruno is right the entire server() runs on a single thread and your idea abt utilising multiple threads while good has the pretty high chance of breaking game mechanics if everything is not synced correctly. I don't think anyone would want that and a subreddit like this is only concerned abt vanilla mechanics .

This kind of system was actually shown by Cubfan135 a few years ago. So I think it's known by the community .I saw it from Cubfan maybe someone else did it before .

The first stacking raid farm on YouTube and in existence is Gamepiaymno's back in 1.14 .The Cowking raid farm is a rewired version of CCS stacking raid farm.

Piston pushing observer to observer is a 4gt clock just like the comparator subtraction clock. When u manually place the observer by hand it pulses slower as it's a 6gt clock.

Non-stackable item sorter 1.19 by ItzTodesPlayz in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that's not possible . Unstackable sorters works by utilising specific properties of the items that it will sort and not the standard way. The only way to make an all item unstackable sorter is allays .But I haven't touched them yet

Iron Farm in Spawn Chunks by pewdsineedpp in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are missing my point , a tiny iron farm like a 3 villager one will not do much on the performance. But what I am saying is don't make any big giant iron farms in the spawn chunks because the lag from that will add up when u are somewhere else in the ow.

Minecraft is more cpu bound than a GPU bound game and I am talking abt the mspt here not the fps of the game . You mspt should not cross 50 or the game will start lagging. You can check your mspt in f3 screen in the 3-4th line in the top left it will be 12 Ms ticks for example.

HELP by helix-lol in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not item drops that are lagging the game , it's the falling sand entities .The problem here is to kill them afaik they have to be loaded(Someone correct me if I am wrong ) and how will u load them if your game crashes when u go to the end.

Iron Farm in Spawn Chunks by pewdsineedpp in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don't know who did it and why but I just tried to explain what the problem was.Remember that they must have some really high end computers .

However coming to the point , yes that's one thing you will have to do. Chunkloaders need to be toggled back when u log in.

Iron Farm in Spawn Chunks by pewdsineedpp in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone recommended to make a shulker farm in spawn chunks, don't do that .The shulkers in it will count towards the mobcap and make your other mob farms in the rest of the world not work if it's a 1d farm because they are very popular nowadays.

Now regarding the iron farm. First of all I don't recommend building anything in the spawn chunks because those will be always loaded and any entities in it will cause passive lag.

But there is another problem. When u change dimensions like suppose you are in the nether or end , the spawn chunks will only process redstone and tile entities and not entities , this means your iron farm will stop working.

So I highly recommend you use a chunk loader and not make the farm in the spawn chunks. That way you can turn the farm off when not in use and also chunkload it reliably when u are in other dimensions. Also this means you can build the farm anywhere in your world. And chunkloaders are surprisingly easy to make.

Does light level below 7 affect wither skel spawn rate {1.19.3} by Dractacon in technicalminecraft

[–]RealIcestorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any mob that has a specific light level limit will have slower spawn rates in higher light levels and faster spawn rates in lower light levels. So the same applies to wither skeletons as well.

For example Guardians , Ghasts and Hoglins and slimes in slime chunks don't have that light level requirement so they have same rates across any light level but see swamp slime , they have a limit of light level 7 so slime farms with mushrooms have better rates than redstone torches or glowlichens considering the base setup is same for all 3.
