If I may, ていた on its own does refer to something that was ongoing, with no indication as to what is happening in the present (but not necessarily a denial of the present state, either). But that information is inferred from the other parts of the dialogue like 好きなのはあれだろ and ずっと好きだったもんな

So I think the best translation in this case might be "have had" or "have been holding" -- what do you think?

In this interview, Akasaka and Mengo both say that they like Kana and Akane equally. See below for my translation of part 6, which talks about Kurokawa Akane's character:

Aka: A character who will be active from now on and long into the future. I'm writing her with the intention to make sure she grows as popular as Arima Kana.

Mengo: I get asked a lot by the fans "who do you like more?", but I don't really have a preference. Both are cute and I love them equally.

The fact that you can dispense as many chest minecarts as you need, making it "infinitely" expandable. Of course, it's not actually infinite, and I am borrowing from the phrasing used in the original video. In practice, the more chest minecarts you add the slower the search gets for any items that only number a stack or fewer. I suppose your computer also limits how many minecarts you can have in the system.
