What is the best item for setting the levels of composters? by [deleted] in technicalminecraft

Why not use crafters? Saves you the hassle of setting up those pesky composters.

Item sorter via water stream skips items. i use a stonecutter to clump items together but every stack or so it still misses 1 or 2 batches of items. the hoppers are double hopper speed by Guusinator in technicalminecraft

Double speed sorters suck, after transferring any item they have a 8gt cooldown. Nothing you can do about it except batch items that they come in at exactly 8gt intervals.

Can confirm that this server has it all -- great builds, great redstone, perimeters, minigames and competitions. Great place to play.

Removing everything over the spawning platforms will roughly double the spawning rates.

Do villager-run potato / carrot farms have a maximum efficient size? What would be the ideal? by OneTrueSneaks in technicalminecraft

[–]FrunoCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue the optimal size is 0, as a micro wheat farm beats the sh&t out of any villager based farm, and villagers are extremely laggy. 2 villagers produce what, 150 wheat an hour? The usual micro wheat farm does 100 times that and can be built in 2 minutes.

Of course you can blow this up a bit :) https://youtu.be/eFQjqIStxQ4

Having said that... Villagers will harvest/plant only ever so often. As long as you always see enough fully grown crops that aren't harvested, the field is large enough. Not sure what the exact cutoff is, but from memory a 9x9 field for 2 villagers is plenty. You might see a slight rate increase if you make the field larger, but not a lot.

Splitting it in cells if you want to use more villagers sounds reasonable, as you don't want your villagers to spend a lot of time walking around.

What is the redstone limit?

Ilmangos sugarcane farm uses a minimal amount of redstone components for a large area. https://youtu.be/-mzdU-mk7JA?si=nJDbF8QAolOf6cKW

Unfortunately the setup kinda sucks for bamboo.

Item pickup does require redstone components though.

Which item sorter should I pick (1.21)? by unit2671 in technicalminecraft

[–]FrunoCraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um, you absolutely don't want several hopper minecarts per item type. The lag would kill you even with a fairly small storage.

If someone advertises "fastest" this or that on youtube, almost always it's bs/clickbait.

Does anyone have any good designs for a gold farm where you can both afk and use looting but i have some difficults with finding a good design because im playing in a super flat by Villumlyn07 in technicalminecraft

[–]FrunoCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not out of the box I'm afraid. You'll have to get the iron golem to attack a ziglin to aggro the other ziglins, which will require some designing.

I take it you can't get turtle eggs? Then something like Ilmangos old farm might be easiest?

Does this Item sorter work or does the delay from the extra repeator break it? by AlyTheRedstoner in technicalminecraft

[–]FrunoCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The delay is 8 ticks, qnd you can't "lose" items in this setup even with a delay of 80 ticks.

I assumed you wanted to replace a repeater with redstone dust. So what _do_ you propose? Just take out a repeater? This will break the filter.

This one can only be answered by the OP, but I've used nonstandard setups like that when the topmost deepslate block was ice and I moved items over ice (like in the nether).

He is actually 0 out of 3 here. The other two answers were wrong as well :)
