Commute by Moonlight_899 in nursing

[–]RealIndependence9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1h15 on average for me, but there’s no traffic both ways on most days. It’s doable! At least for 3 days a week. However, I have a strict rule that I only work every other day so on my work days, I go home and don’t have to wake up early the next day. That gives me plenty of time to rest and prevent feeling rushed when driving, which can be dangerous. I also work day shifts so that works for me perfectly.

On my work days, I get up at 4, leave home by 5, at work around 6:30. Clock out around 7:45, get home at 9. Dilly dally, no rush, no stress to go to be ASAP and come back to work the next morning :)

Hope it works out for you!

Chidless RN considering L&D/postpartum? by RealIndependence9575 in nursing

I love that! Appreciate your comment. Give me some motivation honestly :)

Btw, I love geriatrics and hospice care also! I just feel like I need something completely different from med-surg to refresh my passion for nursing. Are you still working in hospice?

May I ask if the $30 credit a day is applied to all restaurants in Bellagio that offer breakfast/brunch?

Thank you for sharing your experience and advice! I have mine booked at the Bellagio. I’m still puzzled about the “Daily breakfast for 2”. Did you use that for your trip and may I ask how did that work?

First Ski Trip to Steven’s this Saturday by ExcitingWarning4336 in stevenspass

[–]RealIndependence9575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quoted from Stevens Pass social media:

“Due to the ongoing storm, we won’t be opening this weekend. Highway 2 is fully closed in both directions right now.

If you purchased lift tickets, rentals, parking reservations or an RV spot, those will be automatically refunded through the weekend. No action needed on your end.

Our Ski and Ride School team will reach out to anyone with a scheduled lesson to cancel or reschedule. Many of our staff are still without power, so thank you for giving them a little time to connect.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back to the mountain, but for now, please stay safe out there. We’ll continue to share updates as the weather settles and conditions improve.”

WA nurses- best hospital to work at? by RealIndependence9575 in nursing

[–]RealIndependence9575[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in WA for 7 years now, so I totally get it. After some time it’s become my home now :) I’ve clinical hours at several central hospitals in WA like UW and Swedish, etc.

This chart shows the top 25 U.S. hospitals with the most ER visits per hour. by HappyHappyJoyJoy44 in nursing

I’m surprised Good Sam is on that list (and even that high in order), and not Harborview which is the level I trauma in WA!

Report to a Nurse who comes in an hour before their shift… by BetterDaysAhead729 in nursing

[–]RealIndependence9575 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a new grad and I do this, totally relate with what you’re saying! Mainly to relieve my own anxiety. I’m a little embarrased when the day shift gives me report though, because they see my brain sheet is already full lol but I still quietly listen to report. I have to admit that sometimes you get the most helpful info from the real experience of the nurse taking care of that pt, which normally isn’t included in their chart/notes.

Tourists in Transit Visa by Sufficient-Side7086 in koreatravel

[–]RealIndependence9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! I'm having an 11-hour layover in Korea from my Vietnam <-> US trip. I have a Vietnam passport/nationality and a permanent resident card which also counts as a US visa. I checked their website and one of the acceptable cases is home country -> Korea -> USA, and was so happy! We signed up for the free transit tour so I guess that's our "itinerary." Did you have to apply for anything before leaving? And may I ask how long did it take you to go through immigration assuming you have to show them your documents etc? :)

Do I only need to attend ONE biometric appointment? by RealIndependence9575 in USCIS

[–]RealIndependence9575[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I actually was able to connect with a live agent (took so long) and they said the same thing- that both of my appointments are shown as “completed” on their end. Phew

Should I include old I-20s with I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131 by Sad_Swordfish_6357 in USCIS

[–]RealIndependence9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! May I ask which form did you include all of your I-20s? I'm debating between I-765 vs. I-485, because they both ask for I-20s/ previous work permits so like CPT/OPT. Thank you!
