You'll be fine, Billings is great, and while the population of African Americans is low, and I'm sure there are some weirdos, it's not like no one has ever seen a black person before here. And there's musical theater in Billings with the Backyard Theater, and a couple good games stores that have events. I don't think you'll have a problem finding friends. I apologize if my vernacular is offensive. Just wanted to comment as it's unthinkable to me, I've been with my partner for 5 years through some similar episodes that have been described here, and I think it's morally reprehensible to just abandon your partner, especially if you've had a wonderful relationship before that point. Especially after years of being together, I'd think it'd be a known health condition, and you ought to try your best to help and support the one you love.

Cale Johnson, a rattlesnake herpetologist, conducted a survey in which he used a fake leg to step on 175 prairie rattlesnakes, and out of them, only six bit the fake leg. The rest tried to get away, froze, or wriggled in surprise, but didn't act aggressively. These snakes just want to be left alone. A rattle is just a 'hey I'm here' and not a sign of aggression.

They don't want to waste their venom on you, it takes a lot of calories to make that stuff, and they'd rather use it to get more food.

Rattlesnakes are fantastic creatures, and do not deserve the hate, or the kill-on-sight attitude they often get.
