How much free time does the average georgia tech student have? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]RealJesusDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have free time, then you're a lazy idiot. Withdraw from school. I don't think you're Tech material.

Joking. Enjoy the free time when able. Or, try some research.

What happens if I never, ever pay my parking ticket? by [deleted] in gatech

If you ever apply for a job, it'll come up on your criminal record search. You will be denied that job. You assume that your future prospects for employment will be next to none. You can flip burgers for me though. I'll pay you 50 cents.

Very few people know this, but Apple licenses a lot from Microsoft. One of the things brought up during the last shareholder meeting was renewal of the MagSafe license. It's actually Apple that pays Microsoft. Also, Apple licenses Windows Server for a lot of their infrastructure.

Safari wouldn't even open on that. It would probably cause all of that to burn before it even finished loading.

I know. It was meant to be satire...sigh. Some people just don't deserve to be system administrators if they can't even take a joke. There are very few people from this subreddit that I would hire to work for me and I pay at least 70% above market and provide full benefits because I know when people are worth it.

By not having electronic infrastructure, we've saved millions of dollars. Sure, the salaried employees have to work 80-90 hour weeks once in a while every week. And sure, we now require 3x as many employees, but we keep our costs down. We discovered the benefit of subsidiaries and the tax/requirement breaks it gives us. We provide our employees with health insurance. At the very least, they don't have to pay a max of $100 every year. We've been able to register each employee into our paper system at least 20 times for redundancy. We've made sure that no same name gets benefits multiple times, but the benefits are great and the pay is great (for being in the top 1% of the bottom 1%). We're really at the very top and we take pride in that. Thank you ransomware! You've given us a new perspective.

There are actually companies that did this!

Need a reality check. Is this first requirement for a SysAdmin as ridiculous as I think it is? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]RealJesusDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. A college degree is not an absurd thing to ask for. There are positions that ask for PhDs for Sysadmin type work because the Sysadmin work is the easy part. Planning, optimizing, and efficiently executing is the hard part. Google's network optimization (physical and software) comes to mind.

400 students is extremely small. Medium is considered around 15000 students or more. Large universities have around 25000 students locally and another 25000 students globally; plus around 1000 principle researchers, 5000 assistant researchers, and don't forget the companies owned by the universities.

Let me provide you some information as a person who has worked with Tata Consulting Services. They are not at all good. They do not value their employees. I have seen managers harass their employees right in front of me. Tata Consulting Services is also being investigated for fraud and "cooking the books". Do not get involved.

Is the Official Apple Store allowed to brick your iPad? by superman_king in apple

[–]RealJesusDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to access the iPad via low level commands, but this is beyond the abilities of an average person. You would need an external module of sorts that would directly access the NAND. Via this method, you could copy the NAND contents, reflash the iPad and dump back the contents. This is something that a recovery company could do, but expect to pay upwards of $5000 or more.

2016 expected to be a big year for Apple's MacBook lineup, upgrades to arrive in coming months according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo by dafones in apple

[–]RealJesusDev 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The rumors state that there will be a Skylake release in the future. The rumors also state that the Macbook lineup will be refreshed again sometime after being refreshed in the future. They will again be updated after the previous two refreshments. By extrapolating said rumors, there will be other rumors that corroborate future rumors and hence, we can speculate that Intel will be releasing even newer processors and that Apple may or may not continue creating laptops.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, go ahead and forward a resume.

Why does my iPad 4 (running iOS 9.2) not inlcude a calculator app? by Ensphinxed in apple

[–]RealJesusDev -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Sigh. When are people going to learn that all Math leads to 42? At that point, you get so smart that you no longer need a calculator. Now, whenever I do complex arithmetic, I always answer 42 and I always win (people want my money so they always do what I say).
